As far as I know, there is no option to buy a "factory" bluetooth connection for the Eos. However, there are after market bluetooth setups that can be installed that work with the steering wheel bluetooth button. I briefly looked into it for my '08 Lux, but the cost turned me off. I think it was about $400 including installation.

Instead, I bought a unit from Costco that clips on to the visor and displays the telephone number of inbound calls. For $40, it works great.

Hi
Over here, when buying Sat Nav option, the Bluetooth phone system is installed as well, and then the "phone" button is used to pick up the call or hang up.
In my EOS, which basicaly only lacks the SatNav/phone to have all options, the button is useless...

If search "bluetooth" on this forum or on vwvortex.com forum you will fine some good threads on how to add bluetooth speakerphone capability to your Eos, and how to do this in such a way that the bluetooth speakerphone uses your steering wheel buttons to control it, the phone button and the volume up and down buttons in particular.

I did this with a Parrot CK3000 Bluetooth hands free unit, a VW radio wiring harness adapter and an Audicom interface unit. The equipment cost was about $300 one year ago. I used the factory location for the mic in the light panel above the rear view mirror. With the mic there it works OK but not great. The sound quality is great on my receiving side but sending side I sometimes get complaints from person I am talking to.

It is not a trivial upgrade it took me 1/2 a day and involves removing and replacing trim so you have to know what you are doing or you will make a mess of your interior.

As far as i'm aware in the UK it states that the phone option on the multifunction steering wheel doesn't do anything. Hence i didn't have it as i hate non-functioning buttons!

I got the Parrot CK3100 fitted by the dealer and it seems fine (after i deactivated the voice that read out the menus as it annoyed me!). I like the way it sychronises automatically with my mobile phonebook. Only thing that frustrates is my phone asks me when i get in if i want to allow it to do that which i think is a problem with my phone not the kit (want it to auto-allow).

Company that fit it for the dealer did put the display a bit awkwardly though as near the pillar and not allowing much room for my sat nav cradle.

Have sorted the auto connect funtion on my Sony ericsson thankfully! Was tucked away in a sub-menu on the phone. As for the Parrot 3200 colour i thought it looked quite nice but was a bit big, preferred the more discrete 3100.

I am in the UK, Surrey also!

I plan to install the factory bluetooth kit to my EOS just as soon as the kit arrives. There is nothing quite like an OEM solution.

Thanks Alfie, let me know how you get on.
I have a Samsung D900i mobile but I am having trouble since some hands free suppliers say it is not compatible with hands free, some say it is, some say there is a faulty batch of these phones so some will work some won't.
I would love to know if anyone has had a similar phone successfully fitted...............;
