Hooray for us.

We just got our new car. I drove it back from the garage yesterday, about 100 miles and what a joy. Better than I expected or remembered on the countless test drives I have taken at various dealers.:)

We love it and so do our daughters (aged 3 and 5) who laughed all the way through our first spin around.

Absolutely no buyer regret. Good solid car with no issues at all, we paid a very good price and even the non franchised dealer (PMC of Telford) were a joy to deal with.

We found out that the car was VW approved only a 1200 miles and 5 months ago . I spoke to Listers of Evesham (again, really helpful) who knew the car and were very reassuring about it's history. It's even got Supaguard.

TDI sport with dark blue met, biege vienna leather, no ipod (may do something about this) and standard alloys (which we wanted). Fairly standard stuff, leather is a must for us with 2 small girls.

Weather supposed to be good this weekend:cool:
Be sure to dof your cap if you see a fellow EOS around Bristol. If it's a Silver Essence TFSI it may just be me

Will do, chances are I'll see you around as I go into Nailsea a lot, however you might see me in my Blue Merc V Class (Vito with windows, seats and comfort) if it's in the week, strickly speaking the Eos is my wifes.

Lubed the seals at the w/e and no sign of a leak, yet. I'm going to wash it tonight so I'll check it.

I emailed VW and they ell me it had some warranty work done on the roof in Jan, so hopefully we're going to be OK.

See you.

Sounds like a lovely spec James.

Out of interest, are you worried about the beige colour with two young children ?

The reason I ask is that I love the beige leather but worried how it will fare with time with my 2 kids.

Thanks,
Spy

Hi Spy,

Our 9 year old V Class has a darker beige and that's been ok so far (and that puts up with surf boards and gear and sand and wax and sun lotion). I treat the leather every 6 months or so and give it a wipe down every couple of weeks. Nothing too harsh as it ruins the finish.

We have 2 cars, one for best and one for knocking about in. The kids have only been in the Eos once so far and I'm going to cover the seats whenever they're in it. It's not that i love the car more than the kids but I think they can co-exist with the right encouragement (a balance of reward and denial). I'm hoping supaguard lives up to it's name as well.

Unlikely - it's a long way and I've got one eye on a surf trip (waves allowing). but we will probably pitch up at the VW show in north Somerset.

Took the Eos out last night and drove through town with the top down, fav' music on and loved it.

I hope I've judged it right, roof down cars are a bit of a pose, but, the Eos is nice and understated. It's been 20 odd years since my late teen soft top days and I'd forgotten the feeling. All the better for extra comfort, a decent heater, nice tunes, more power, leather, oh and the wheels don't want to unscrew every time I brake.

Fortunately my volume control finger works better when stopping at lights.

What was I like!

Probably a bit like me now! My finger isn't quite so quick at the lights so all and sundry can hear my music! lol

Shame you won't make it but maybe one day! lol

Music is something you really have to concentrate on with the top down. Ive made some special "Top Down" discs, and the kids cds are banned from the Eos!! Imagine pulling up at the lights with "If youre happy and you know it" blasting out.

I don't think Id ever live that down.

Eventually Got Our Eos

Aft er waiting three weeks we picked up our shiny black Eos yesterday. The roof has all new seals and new roof electrics as well and they now assure us no leaks. Lets hope this is the case we shall just have to wait and see, only had the roof down for a short while as was a bit windy here in Scotland yesterday hopefully we,ll get down again soon. Drove it for the first time today took a wee bit getting used to. The handbrake seems further over than my other cars but I eventually got the hang of this and she drives well.Hope we can now enjoy some great times with this car.:)

I picked up my Eos at the beginning of May and I love it! I would never have thought that I would go for a convertible but bring on the sunshine!

It's been back to the dealer to have the brakes looked at but fingers crossed all is sorted now and happy motoring days are on their way!

Hi JamesR. Hello from a fellow newbie. Looks like you'll be doing 200 miles this weekend according to the weather forecast. With a bit of luck, I should be cruzin' in mine tomorrow if the paper work has been sorted.

A month later....

and it's all smiles apart from the fact that I'm left with no Eos on such a loverly day whilst the real owner takes the kids to the inlaws, still cup final, beautiful silence and a surf trip tomorrow is good compensation (3 foot and clean to those who care).

We're still very happy with the car and it has been faultless except for a very small leak in the rear side window. I'll lube it some more and hope that does the trick.

My next job is to build a shelter for her.

Miles of smiles:)

J
