Knew it would happen...

Winter and bought the Eos. I'm thinking "not so bad, It'll be nice and warm in a month or so."

Month or so later:

Warmer... but now here comes the pollen. I have a black Eos with the black interior. Does not hide pollen whatsoever.

 if only the pollen filter worked with the top down!

I know, I know... I'll deal with it. I'll deal with my "pain in the rear Eos." :D

stupid pollen. It'll be over soon.

Ahhhh

well lets see, most otc medicines work well for pollen season on people. as for cars....mine gets parked in front of my house by a tree that flowers... and i'm in what used to be farm country (now we grow more houses) but i get big blops of pollen and petals all over my car. sooo i use one of those soft mop thingys with a long handle.... it is treated with dust stuff and works great to just sweep over the car. (comes in a zip case, stores great in trunk) and wala... bright shinny car. as for my allergies and ashtma.... prescription medicine singular changed my life. and today we hit 87!!! what a great ride home from work.. but i do think i need a better hat. i think even with the 60 sunscreen my ear tips got pink....

Hi CaliKid - this is probably a very silly question so excuse someone from a rather more temperate climate asking it in ignorance, but when you're driving with the top down in those sort of temperatures do you have the aircon running to pump cool air at your feet?? A sort of reversal of our driving with the top down on a bitterly cold day withy the seats on and warm air blowing???

Interested!!

air on feet

you bet it works great. the air on is the way to go..... and since i drive bare footed works great to cool em off. the weird part is i drive with a long sleeve shirt on! it's the old don't want to get burned thing. we here in the valley hit somewhere around 113 last year. so on those days i may actually end up with the top up as not to become a crispy critter. which is one reason i'm glad i have the cornsild beige interior. (my car is midnight blue) cause i've had black interior and trust me.....in this area you can end up with a burned bum. but i do have most of the year i can drive with the top down. as in last night when it was around 68>>>>love this state.

Interesting! When I get a] my Eos and b] the Summer I'll try the cool breeze/open top combo. Not sure about driving barefoot though!!!! And you've given me another great reason why choosing Cornsilk Beige was a good idea - not one I'd thought of, but I'll claim it anyway.

I love California too - shame I live in Sussex really!!!! When I visited San Fran last time we explored the Northern coastline, north of Muir Woods, and in a 'remote' [by UK standards!] seaside cafe found a photograph of the Seven Sisters cliffs, just a few miles from where I live - seems a British sailing ship had beached there for repairs centuries ago and thought the local cliffs reminiscent of home! Off-topic I know, but the Worlds a very small place at times

Bets wishes

HI Paul

With the roof lowered then the air con is disabled as it is not powerful enuff to cool down the whole world.

Paul..
Ah - oh well I suppose that makes sense as it would overwhelm the system!!

Or is that just on the Climate Control option??

air to feet

welll, i close off all the upper vents in dash and direct air to feet. lower the temp on the dial, and it may not be as cold as when the roof is up... but it feels prety good on my bare tootsies:D an thats all that counts when it get as hot here as it does......

It must be just on the Climate Control option (which is of course fully automatic) because my basic system chucks out cold air wherever the roof is!

The Dual Climate Control has two memories, one for when the roof is up and one for when the roof is down. You can set the system to your own preferences, roof up and then roof down.

The factory setting when the car is delivered for roof down, is for the AC to be switched off. All you need to do is set it to your own preferences and the system will remember the settings for the next time you drop the roof.

Here in the UK at the moment, still need to pump out the heat when the roof is down!!!!
