Hi all,
bought an ex-demo eos 2.0T for the wife's birthday about a month ago now.
Couldn't wait for the 14 week delivery for a brand new one (summer will be over then). Looking thro' the vw website there was very little regional variation in prices, and we ended up buying one in pembrokeshire with the spec. we wanted, at a price more than we would have paid for a new one, because of the extras.
Several things I've noticed since coming over from an Audi A3 3.2. There is less go and traction obviously (the wife complains of the loss of 50 bhp and 4-wheel drive from the audi). There is certainly more road and wind noise with the optional 18" alloys. Economy is better at 30-35mpg compared with 25-29mpg in the audi. The eos also has cheaper insurance. The folding front seat mechanism is the same as in the audi 3 dr, the catch on the outer runner came adrift several times in the audi (worryingly the garage said it happens with wear and tear). The eos is wider, but there is certainly less room in the back. The older son (12yrs) complains because his knee is touching the front seat back. Overall the wife seems fairly happy. The only 2 problems have been the distinct lack of sunshine, and the non working passenger electric window switch. I wonder whether we can get some money back, because the roof is hardly folded down!

I was wondering that myself.
One thing I can console myself with is that the hard top seems to be better than a soft top at keeping the weather at bay. On the issue with the power:
If you are getting 30-35mpg out of her then I'm not surprised she complains about the loss of power. Use lead boots and give it lots of revs I doubt she will tell the difference with the 3.2:) only problem is with the wheel spin.

Many happy EDAs to come

Cheers,

If it's any consolation the weather has been fantastic here all weekend and I have sunburn!

Popped into the garage at the weekend for a bit of a gossip with my sales assistant, and mentioned the lack of Eos in the showroom, and she said they had just sold the showroom eos, and the demo one, both for full asking price - they're both over a year old!

The advantage of the 2.0T over the 3.2 is the ability to get a remap then you can have your 50bhp back and more if you desire it. I haven't done it myself but I have been 'pondering' over it.;)

Me too. The only thing stopping me is the warranty question. Is it really an issue or do you just have to hope the dealers can't spot it?

I moved from an R32 (3.2L 250PH and 4 wheel drive) to a 2.0TFSi
The main differences that I have noticed is the wheelspin ( Lack of 4WD) and also the lack of that wonderfull V6 noise. Performance is fairly close to the R32. It is only just over a second slower to 60.
But you can remap the 2.0TFSi to get some more power but this will not improve the 0-60 as this is mainly the 4WD that

Well in the normal run of things its very hard to spot unless the dealer is specifically looking for it and why should they bother. Some of the remaps claim better low down torque and mpg so is all very tempting. The VWVortex Eos forum has more info on remaps.
Cheers, David
