Hey all,
I opted for the base US spec headunit in my Eos. It is the one with the 6 large buttons and the small single line display. I'm wondering if anyone would know if this headunit is upgradable? I've heard talk of the RCD500. Is this compatible with the Eos and where can I get one?

For those of you familiar with the vortex I couldn't find a thread about the Eos and the RCD500.

Thanks for any help you all can give.

Oh, and not just the RCD500, if there are other units available please let me know.

RCD500's are hard to come by but look pretty much the same as the RCD300 (which I'm guessing you probably have). The difference being that the RCD500 has multi-CD functionality without an external CD unit.

People snap up the RCD500 when they come up on eBay as very few seem to be available. I opted for the cheaper option of adding the iPod adapter to the RCD300 instead.

If you wanted to add another aftermarket stereo you can get facia adapters. I found a site offering them in the UK - http://www.bluespot.co.uk/install/show_model.asp?id=397

I agree. I wouldnt bother upgrading the headunit. Its a lot cheaper getting an ipod adapter. The installation is fairly straight forward (my own experience), and the fascia itself and headunit is relatively easy to remove.
