Morning...! Had my Eos (TDi Sport) about a month, and I'm loving it. No leaks so far, and it's been rained on nearly continually for the past couple of weeks.

Anyway, the only annoyance is how much the front windows rattle against the back ones. Happens when you close the doors (with roof up or down) and when there's any kind of bump in the road (roof down, all windows up).

I reckon it's time for a dealer trip, but I was wondering if anyone else has / has noticed the window rattle?

I rented an EOS for a month with 5K miles an dit seemed pretty solid to me. My current 400mi ODO EOS is fine from the factory. My 2004 T-bird, also a convertable, became progressively worse.. I'm curious if some of you convertable veterans out there can cerify how common this is with convertables.. I think that the door slaming makes it worse. What I try to do is close the door while having my hand on the other side of the glass (when the top is down of course) and this provides support to the glass while the door impacts with the frame...

It's probably because convertibles are inherently not very stiff anyway due to the lack of a roof, so you're bound to get some rattles where one thing meets another.

In fact the Eos is better than most because of the extra stiffening in the body to counter the lack of a roof. Many convertibles handle like a over-ripe banana!

Agree with you there, neh - I drove a soft top convertible Megane through the windy roads of Devon and Cornwall and it felt like I was driving one of the bendy busses we see in London!

well, thats a little different, the windows aren't part of the stiffened body... its something about how they are mounted that gets compromised over time.

They're not but if the body parts they are attached to are all flexing slightly and one window is moving with one part of bodywork and another window with another part then a rattle ensues...

Hi , I am/should be hitting the first 10,000 miles by this evening, I have had a few issues but simply have not had the time to report this. I have also heard an irritating noise but have'nt worked this out yet, I will try and look into this more to understand if it is the same issue....it could be.

Yes, my driver's side front window was rattling and the dealership fixed it - a broken piece inside the door that holds the window in place - good luck
Greetings from Collingwood, Dan; and congratulations on your sound advice. Not all EOS owners are experts on car maintenance; yet I see too many people always griping about how lousy their VW dealer is! I would agree there are some good and some not so good, and in my case it took a little trial and error to find one I really liked; but once I did, he solves virtually all my problems and does it either under warranty or at a reasonable price. Looks like you have had the same experience. Cheers and hope we meet on the road some day!
