anyway i may have to put them back on with ds tape.
can someone with a uk spec car(fsi) post exact measurements for me please?
also interested to know if they are in a straight line ie if you string line across the rear do they follow that line or are they in a curve
cheers

Can't give you the measurements (since debadged) but the letters are in a striaight line across the boot.

To ensure you get them right it is probably worth getting a new set from VW - I would expect the three letters and 2.0fsi to be on backing paper so the alignment is correct. Backing paper may also have lines to match the boot edge.

Your problem is exactly the reason why I have not de-badged!

Hi Pacemaker,
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. At least it was worth a try! Too bad "Headquarters" didn't approve! Think I have that problem occasionally as well!
Cheers!

Pacemaker, Looks like you made the mistake of mentioning your plans or pointing out your enhancements. Just one of the problems with youth.

Reminds me of when British Rail (so a few years ago) wanted some trains in a new colour scheme.

They came in to approve the first one and then asked when they would have the part numbers for the logos on the train (arrow of indecision and numbers were a different colour to the other trains) since they tend to come off in the wash.

They got quite upset when we told them all the logos and numbers were painted on and offered them a tin of paint - the trains were spray painted and we had a new computer which produced very large stencils so everything on the ouside of the train was painted - no stickers or labels at all.

Go into a dealer with a piece of paper and a pencil, trace the position relative to the boot edge and use that as a template!

I have just done a little checking with my reference photos before badge removal.
If the total height from boot edge to botom of light cluster is 20 units the top of the F is placed 3 units down from light cluster

Horizontal is measured from mid "E" if total width is 113 then edge of "E" is 4.5 units in from edge.

For the FSI bit, the "I" is 2.5 units from edge of boot.

That should provide the proportions you need, remember it does not need to be exact.
PS look at the de badged pics I posted that shoud give the guidance.

hope this is some assistance:rolleyes:
