anybody got pics of rear flaps?
both side and rear pics would be appreciated
also what you opinions on the appearance?
i live down a lane used by tractors and cows so have already fitted front ones to stop cow sh*t on the side of the car but could really do with rears too if they look ok

I feel they look fine. Not to obtrusive & do a good job of stopping stone chips - which was why I fitted them.

Hi Fred,
I paid 62Eu + tax for the fronts flaps & 1/2 hr labour to fit them.
The rears were part of the deal I made.
Genuine VW parts.

Thanks! I guess I'll add some to my front wheels as I often park on the non-finished part of the company parking lot... ;-)

I got mudflaps both front and rear and they really blend in with the dark wheel wells and black tires, you hardly see them. They do seem to help keep the sides of my Eos cleaner between washes.

Do a real good google search to find the best source, there are VW dealers that sell the OEM VW parts like mud flaps on line at large discounts off retail, much cheaper than oempl.us or dealer parts counters. I got both front and rear mud flaps on line last year for less than $100 total for both including shipping.

I usually fit front flaps to my cars to protect the sills from stone chips. The ones on my BMW 330d were really small and profiled (photo), but I don't think I'll be putting any on the Eos. They look too big to me, especially the rear ones, almost like rally flaps. Pity :(

If you think the mudflaps for the Eos look like rally mudflaps, then you obviousily haven't seen a true rally car.
On gravel roads the flaps need some length otherwise they are useless. The bimmer's flaps are useless out here in Oz.

I dare say they are, but I live in the north of France, not in the Australian outback :D It was when I came across these pictures that the word 'rally' came to mind. Personally I think they ruin the Eos' svelte lines.

I think it's all to do with the color. With a dark color bodywork they blend in the tyres & paint. With white or silver (when color coded) they really don't look good. I wouldn't fit them on a silver EOS.
Just my opinion.

It's a good job we're all individuals.:D

I don't live in the outback nor does the Eos, I use my D3 for those trips. Most of underside damage to vehicles occurs on sealed (bitumen) roads. A way to see how efffective flaps are is to drive across a muddy field or road and look at the splatter marks on the underside of the vehicle. Small stones from the bitumen roads do a lot of damage to the underside of the sills etc. A number of forum members have had windscreen damage on bitumen (sealed) roads. Where ever you are roadways will throw up small rocks etc. I hate driving behind large semi's because of the material they throw up, cars do the same on a smaller scale.
