Most of what I have found for an Eos bike rack involves using a trailer hitch type. A trunk mounted rack should be avoided as the trunk lid is plastic to accommodate the various antennas used (they are integrated into the trunk lid). I saw one post for a Yakima trailer hitch that flips down and may allow the top to be raised or lowered. The standard trailer hitch bike racks will interfere with the top going up/down. Hope this helps.

Receiver hitch bike rack...

I would go with a receiver hitch bike rack if I were going to get into that kind of business. If so, I would go for the 1 1/4" model as I would NOT being towing anything with my Eos. I found one for $170 including shipping at the following link. The page says it's for the Eos '07 and '08 models. This dealer is located in Florida.

I had a similar one on 2 previous cars and they worked great. While I can not guarantee that you can put the top up or down with a bike rack installed, there is a fair chance you can. To do this or at least have a shot at it, you would have to get a receiver bike rack that has a tilt feature. Mine will tilt back about at a 45 degree angle for access to the trunk/boot. If this isn't enough, you'll just have to take it off while raising/lowering the top.

If anyone buys one of these racks, how about some feedback as to the installation. The first one of these type racks that I bought had to be welded to the frame. The second one was designed to bolt on using bolts or holes already in place.

One you use one of these racks, you'll never go back to some piece of junk that mounts on the rear of the car.

I installed the class 1 Curt hitch custom designed to bolt on the Eos frame and installed an isolated 4 wire trailer wiring connector. I use them both to pull a small 2 wheel motorcycle trailer or I can use the hitch itself for a trailer hitch ball bike rack I already owned. Works good. The only down side to the Curt hitch is that lowers the rear ground clearance of the Eos by a couple of inches. It mounts below the lower bumper cover vs. the Euro hitch that uses a different bumper cover with a hitch cutout so no ground clearance is lost. So far no scrapes on the bottom of the hitch receiver. :)

It has a pivot point held in place by a cotter pin so it can be quickly folded down horizontal to the ground, this gets it out of the way so I can lower the top without removing the bike rack. It is a standard type of bike rack, the fold down feature allowed me to open the rear hatch on my other ride, a Ford Escape, with the bike rack mounted.

The down side is that I have to take great care not to operate the top with the bike rack installed before remembering to fold the rack down.
