Hey all,
I took delivery of my VW Eos about a month ago (I've been too busy driving it around to post here about it, until now!), and have loved every minute we've spent together.
I got the Komfort trim, thunder blue, moonrock grey interior, iPod adapter, Monster mats, 17" rims. I'd been eyeing the Eos since I first saw pictures of it back in late '06, but was living in NYC at the time and wasn't about to be a car owner there. Well, my wife and I just moved from NYC to San Diego, and I figured where better to own an Eos then somewhere I can drive in "suntan mode" 365 days a year.
And trust me, I've been getting the most of it. It was just this weekend when I'd picked up a box that I had to put in my trunk, and I had to raise the roof for the first time in weeks. When I was driving home from the store, it had occured to me: "Oh.. so THIS is what the car looks like from the inside with the roof up.."
At first, my wife loved it around town, but was a bit skeptical about it on the highway with the roof down because she thought it was too windy. But with the windows up, and the wind-buffer up (in the back seat), it's positively calm in the front seats, even at highway speeds. So now, the top stays down ALL the time.
I must say though, that I've never driven a car where you get some many looks/compliments. For a guy whose certainly not flashy with his possessions, its a bit of a funny feeling actually. It's rare that I'll make a trip out to run errands with my Eos when I don't get someone complimenting the car or wanting to know more about it. I'm certainly not complaining - just not something that I'm used to.
Anyways - just wanted to say hi to all you other Eos owners, and thank everyone for all their postings in the Q&A section, etc. I was referring to these forums a lot while I was making my buying decision, and I couldn't be more pleased.
Happy driving!
