Hey all,

I took delivery of my VW Eos about a month ago (I've been too busy driving it around to post here about it, until now!), and have loved every minute we've spent together.

I got the Komfort trim, thunder blue, moonrock grey interior, iPod adapter, Monster mats, 17" rims. I'd been eyeing the Eos since I first saw pictures of it back in late '06, but was living in NYC at the time and wasn't about to be a car owner there. Well, my wife and I just moved from NYC to San Diego, and I figured where better to own an Eos then somewhere I can drive in "suntan mode" 365 days a year.

And trust me, I've been getting the most of it. It was just this weekend when I'd picked up a box that I had to put in my trunk, and I had to raise the roof for the first time in weeks. When I was driving home from the store, it had occured to me: "Oh.. so THIS is what the car looks like from the inside with the roof up.."

At first, my wife loved it around town, but was a bit skeptical about it on the highway with the roof down because she thought it was too windy. But with the windows up, and the wind-buffer up (in the back seat), it's positively calm in the front seats, even at highway speeds. So now, the top stays down ALL the time.

I must say though, that I've never driven a car where you get some many looks/compliments. For a guy whose certainly not flashy with his possessions, its a bit of a funny feeling actually. It's rare that I'll make a trip out to run errands with my Eos when I don't get someone complimenting the car or wanting to know more about it. I'm certainly not complaining - just not something that I'm used to. :D

Anyways - just wanted to say hi to all you other Eos owners, and thank everyone for all their postings in the Q&A section, etc. I was referring to these forums a lot while I was making my buying decision, and I couldn't be more pleased.

Happy driving!

Welcome to the club and what you describe as regards excitement when you drive an Eos is the constant companion of ownership.
Just wish I had as many dry days where sun bathing mode could be achieved, most times its raining or overcast. (God I'm depressing myself now.)

Happy EDAs

Welcome to our exclusive club JG. Tho we don't get the good weather so much as you, we do still 'go topless' at every opportunity when it's not raining. Even in the winter it's good, bug catcher up, wind deflector up and bum warmers on - what more could you want.

Greetings John from Blue Mountain in Canada! Hope you enjoy your EOS immensely. I've had mine close to 2 years now, and still thoroughly enjoy it, even "riding shotgun" and not driving. Many happy EDA's.

The Eos looks good in coupe mode, so even with damp weather they are noticed especially when they are parked at the diesel pump (rare occasion).
