RNS 510 upgrade to 07 EOS with RCD 300?

Afternoon all,

I have a March 07 EOS which I just picked up 2nd hand. I'm considering upgrading the stereo unit to an RNS 510.

Apart from an adapter cable to ensure the two aerial connectors fit, from the research I've done it should just plug in and work, is that correct?

Anyone know what a "good" price for an RNS 510 is? There appears to be a fair few on ebay, which vary massively in price.

regards,

Greg

hey guys, sorry totally new on here so i hope you dont mind if i ask a few basic questions. i'm really interested in getting an eos and the first thing i would want to do with it is to upgrade the audio. i just had a few questions.

i have read a few of the posts on here regarding the issue and alot of people seem to be going with the MFD2 system. can someone please expain to me what this system is? also, do some units with sat nav need to run a dvd in order for it to work, or am i confused?

previously i have only come across double din head units which have built in sat nav, made by people such as kenwood, alpine and pioneer. these have a 7inch or so screen. i was wondering why not many people use these. is it because it doesnt fit into the space?

greatly appreciate your help guys. thanks

I don't know about the MFD, but the latest and greatest VW badged audio system is the RNS 510, radio, CD, DVD and hard disc MP3 player with built in sat nav. You can also add either a VW or 3rd party unit to give you bluetooth handsfree.

Cheers,

Greg
