Hi,
I just purchased a used VW Eos Lux with 14k miles on it yesterday. I got a great deal on it from a VW dealership and the vehicle is certified pre-owned with a clear Carfax report.
After negotiations they asked me if I'd be interested in the VW Road Hazard Tire & Wheel Protection Plan. They're offering the plan at $595 for the Deluxe plan. It covers tire repair and, according the finance guy, more importantly replacement of the wheels should I damage those. I'm wondering if others have purchased this service and if it has been worthwhile?
Typically, I am not one to purchase extended warranties - I pick a good product and stick with it. VW has covered all other warranties. My thought is that the time I'd most likely need something like that is if I do something stupid that would be covered by my auto insurance anyway. Also, I carry AAA and my insurance companies roadside assistance already for anything else.
They've given me time to think about it and told me to be sure and drive carefully since I was decling this offer for now. (Also related stories of people hitting things as they left the lot). It just seemed like they were making a hard push for it.
Thoughts?
