Saturday was a nice, sunny day and like most EOS owners I decided to put my roof down for my 15 mile trip home. As I have done so many times in the past, In pressed the lever ant the roof conversion started. This time however, after the sunroof slid back, the whole process stopped with a SYSTEM MALFUNCTION ERROR being displayed. After may attempts at trying this, I discovered that the boot was also locked tight and would not open and the windows remained in th down position.

The display continued to display the Continue Conversion message but the roof would not budge. I decided to drive home having to endure another message displaying the SPEED TOO FAST message.

Having deposited the car at my local dealer, I have been informed that the "pump which controls" the roof needs replacement.

THe EOS is 57 plate with just 2 summers under its belt !!!!!!! Has anyone had this problem so early in a cars life ??

Very rare issue... Hydraulic pumps are normally very reliable... They should last the life of the car...

It is worth checking that the linkages are well lubricated as strain when the roof operates can cause issues in the future...

I lube my linkages (hinges and catched) with the same Krytox which I use to do the seals. I lube the linkages approx once a year.

Any chance you could post a photo of where you lube the linkages? Sounds like a very good idea to keep up with this.
