I don't have my eos yet, but I've bought a bottle of krytox for the future (I'm mad) I have read everything and everywhere about krytoxing the seals...but I don't know or understand the way to put the roof in "service" position...for applying the lube! I need some explanations...thanks

Brilliant thought Denny ... actually, the VW Manual expalins how to do it, and I posted a reply to Simon tonight with a link to the most recent TSB from VW explaining full procedure and how to position roof.

Hey all... The way to do it as far as I am aware, is to open the roof up to the point where the sidebars would start to disengage from the A pillars. Once in this position, if you need the tailgate in service position, you need to look under it and there are two silver catches, release them and the tailgate will also open to make a Z shape.

I will now go and find the thread from SHF about the TSB and see what it says, but the above is how I do it (however, you don't have to do the tailagte release part to do the krytox! That is the most tricky bit, the onkly time I did that was to install my SmartTop mod!

What is it you Brits say? "Capital idea"!
Between "Simon Says" and VWVortex we'd have everything covered!

That's OK Simon we'll just ask for your mobile number! Or maybe you'll just leave it with VW corporate for reference and they can contact you with our problems! Cheers!

Yup Ma'am. but nothing serious. Also, for the record, as our "Official EOS Technical Adviser"I hope Simon makes satisfactory arrangements to pick up his mail while he is away? Otherwise, we've taken a vote and can't let you go Simon!

Oh Fred, will Simon get a hat to go with his new post of Eos technical advisor, may I suggest a small rather ill fitting beret, with a Vw badge of course.

Great Idea Jamcar,
|I should think it will suit him to a Tee and then he can post it as an avatar on his thread so we can all put a face to our technical adviser!
