How does this work????
I was paranoid about drying off my Z4 cloth top roof if I left it in the driveway overnight & it rained...before it folded into the boot\trunk Id give it a bit of a dry down...
but does this matter on the Eos hard top if its wet?
Does anyone do this? Is it recommended? Or, does it plain not matter if its wet & folded into the boot\trunk?

Comments?

i would dry it off first because the water might be able to get into the electronics i.e. computer and folding mechanism.

Thanks AJ
I was thinking it should be water proof to some degree ...

Does anyone else have some practical experience with this?

Lemme know, as this will happen to me a fair bit - my car gets parked in my driveway when I get home at night from the office, whilst my partner's Golf sits in the garage

There's an obvious answer there Davey mate!!!!
We put the roof down (when demonstrating it to the crowd of onlookers) on Saturday while it was still wet, but didn't leave it down. I think it would be advisable just to wipe it over if you were going to put it down and leave it down. Better to be safe than sorry!

Yep.. If you are going to stow it, you should dry it as much as you reasonably can. You don't want all the water to run off into the boot section when you drive off.... Whilst it probably won't be enough water to seep through the boot lining, it isn't really worth the risk. The roof controller and PDC controller are on the left and right respectively of the boot area.

Ok, thanks Gary & Simon.
I used to keep an old gym towel in the garage for the Z4 to give it a wipe down before I put it down too.

I'll do the same with the Eos too...
Simon..."PDC"? Is that the Park Distance Control you mean?

Its not that its heavy rain - not in sunny Sydney, Australia that is ;) - but you know how some mornings there's heavy dew on cars - its that kind of moisture level I'm referring to.

I'm wondering if I should organize some sort of mutiny at my house & demote the Golf to the driveway... :D that would go down like a lead balloon me thinks with my girlfriend.

Thanks

My dealer sales rep lowered the top on an Eos I test drove when it was all wet without drying it off first and it got the floor of the trunk all wet. If you have anything in the trunk it will probally get wet if you lower the top without drying it first. Also the trunk may start having mold issues or odors if gets wet and does not get a chance to quickly dry out after getting wet.
