I am forever getting requests to demonstrate the roof (surprise surprise)

I don't like to keep starting the engine as it isn't so good for it if I am just going to let it idle...

Hoe many times do you think I could do an open and close cycle and still be able to start the engine after!!

As many times as you like, just keep a jumpstart battery in the boot

I would expect the roof motor would overheat and you would get a roof error before you would run out of battery juice. You will get an error code and then not be able to move the roof until the hydraulics cool down enough to use the roof again.

I agree. The motor and the fluid will heat up significantly with two or three cycles of the roof. The hydraulic lines are small and hot to the touch after one cycle. Just keep this in mind.

In the training docs for the car, I recall it mentioning about 5 times.... Not sure if this is full cycles or just opens/closes....

I realise that I just answered my own question, but I think others might be interested!

I personally have always played safe and only ever operated the roof once up and once down without starting the engine.

Same here, never more than one up & down without starting the engine. When I was looking at various drop top cars cars before I discovered the Eos (including Mitsubishi colt CZC and yes the incredibly cute but tiny Copen) the dealer ALWAYS started the engine to do a roof demo.

100% agree... Although I feel sorry for the person who's gonna buy an ex-demo which has been started about 100 times for 1 min each time!!

Not Many It Has Overload Heat Protection,which Means You Have To Wait For A Short While Either To Get Roof Up Or Down
