I just noticed the black roof section (behind the sunroof above the passengers seating) appears to have 'swirly' scratches or what looks like buffing marks on it. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this on their Eos and if so, is there anyway to buff them out? Im not sure if this part of the roof is plastic/metal so not too sure what to try on it. Im guessing the marks are from cleaning the car at a commercial car wash (thanks to water restrictions in Aus thats the only option I have).

That portion of the roof is metal with paint and it does show lots of swirls on it even if its never been in a car wash. You can get most out with carefull polishing (avoiding circular actions, use strokes) as you would with the rest of the paint work.

Oh good, thanks for the advice Graham, I hadnt noticed it til now and think it must just be the light in our garage which really shows up the imperfections. I thought my baby was badly damaged! Glad to hear it sounds lilke its normal.

On my 2007 Eos that is a glass panel not metal - did they switch to metal to save weight in 2008? It looks black because the parts of the top system underside of the glass is painted black.

I stand corrected! I agree it is a steel panel. Mine is painted to such as perfect scratch free finish it looks like glass! I always thought it was glass due to its looks and since it is surrounded by a rubber gasket just like a piece of glass is normally installed.
