Ladies & Jellybeans,
I want some advice on this...
Ive ordered mine with the 18" Samarkand's. Happy with the wheel size choice + the fact it comes with Sports suspension as a result too. No worries.

Ive been having some 2nd thoughts though on whether I should change my order from Samarkand's, to Chicago's.
They will be set off with the Silver Essence met' paint.
Im wondering if the Chicago's would in fact look a little better?

Price isn't an issue - they're the same.

I can see pics of them on the web anywhere - but maybe owners with Silver Essence with Chicagos & owners with Silver Essence with Samarkands cld attach some images to help either put my mind at rest in the choice Ive made, or help me change my order if its too late!

What do you reckon?

Thanks!!!

Simon,
do the Chicago's actually protrude a bit?
I mean to say, are they convex - & thats why they are suseptable to scratching on the curbs etc?

If you were looking at them laterally, they are convex? Whereas the Samarkand's might be concave if you looked at them laterally?

(I saw your thread when you damaged yours & posted in that thread too - poor little alloys)

Thanks for your zippy reply too!

They are just like regular wheels!!... They just got mashed cos I am a rubbish parker... They are stunning wheels! I love them dearly! Without the picture of yours, I don't know the dynamic differnces. But for the ones in the UK, The chicagos are the best looking in my opinion. All the showroom models have them, that must be worth something!

I have the silver, and opted for the Samarakands, main reason is that the Samarkands look good with roof on or roof off, where as the Chicagos which are sensational looking wheels, tend to suit the silver Eos with the roof off, but not so much with the roof on. Just my opinion though!

I have silver essence + chicagos and they go very well together - very eye catching. Some think they're a bit 'bling' but I think they compliment the car perfectly.

easy to clean nail-z-gull?
The do look good, no arguments there, but I seem to have come full circle in my thinking ...they might look too boy-racerish...where as the Sammy's seem a little more conservative?

I like them both, and have thought that the Chicago's might be more sportier on the car...

Jeez,....I dunno!

I dont think the chicago's look too boy racerish... think they look just right and add to the car. Guess its just personal choice, but dont think you would regret going with Chicago's... god luck!

Youre not making this easy for me guys....
Hmmmmmmmm, I really need to check out some images of the Chicago's in natural daylight - If Im going to change my order, I need to do it quick.
Sydeos previously supplied some excellent pics of his silver Eos with 18" Samarkands......
Decisions, decisions!

O I know.... I hear you!! :D

its gotta be right!!! You know the feeling when you get something, you like it a lot...but get this niggling feeling that you would have been happier had you chosen the other color, or the other design... I don't want to have any 2nd thoughts about it whilst I have it - its too expensive to change my mind after I take delivery of the thing with the Samarkand's.

They look great on your Eos from the pics you shared a while ago - its difficult seeing the Chicago's in real light ...and now I think about it, haven't seen any Chicago's on any Eos's in Sydney at all...hmmmmmmm

(I need to get out more often)

Davey Don't know what the Samarkands look like but if you check out the following website (if you havent already!) you get to style your EOS and you can see what the chicago's will look like on the car. It's www.vw.co.uk/new_cars/eos/re-discover/flash.html and on the left of the page it says 'style your eos'. If you can't get through on this then Google : VW EOS REDISCOVER YOUR SENSES. Its worth trying just to see all the different ways you could put the car together.

Hey there Gary - good man!
I have spied this site before, but its not bad for a looksee.
It always helps to see what they look like in real , natural daylight on a soliver Eos.
Sydeos in this forum had excellent pics of his Eos in silver, with 18" Samarkands & gave me an excellent idea as to how they look.
I was hoping I could get the same from another formum member.

Cheers & all the best,
David
