Hiya,

Looks like this is the scratched forum at the moment. Anyway - I've just been out cleaning the Eos and decided to do the inside as well.

Whilst trying to rub a mark off the speedo plastic with my finger covered by a clean duster I've managed to put a scratch in it over the speed dial.

Does anyone have any tips on removing scratches from plastic? As I doubt the plastic is replaceable I don't really want to have to get a new speedo unit (I dread to think how much that would cost to buy + fit).

Still at least it's sunny which doesn't make things so bad :)

Cheers,
Si

The plastic used to cover the gauges scratches very easily. I have the same on mine as well as a scratch on my radio display. I don't know who caused them. It probably was caused by using a dry cloth to clean. I know it is something that we will have to live with. I don't think there is an easy way to fix the scratches.

If its a hard plastic like Perspex then the scratch can be polished out with a little effort using a cream metal polish like Autosol (I swear by that stuff its magic for lots of things). Just rub the scratch, polish, rub and polish till its gone. If its deep then you will probably not remove it but it will certainly be less noticable.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Been out tonight and it's only really noticeable when the sun hits so might bear with it for the time being.

Good tip on the Autosol - if I get annoyed too much I'll definitely check it out :)

Cheers,
Si
