Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has had their Chicago / Monza II (Golf GTI) alloy wheels refurbed in the north west (Manchester'ish) area of England:confused, and been happy with the results.

Bought a second hand Eos and 2 of the wheels have slight, but noticable, scuffs on them. Have had a couple of quotes from places (about £100 a wheel) but would like to use someone whose been used before successfully if possible.

Many thanks
Chris

Though I haven't, a lot of folks in the Porsche club have used Wheel Enhancement You would most likely need to ship your wheels to them, though...

Many thanks, but I think the cost of shipping from NW England to USA might prove financially difficult!
Opps - I thought you were in New England - not NW England!! Wrong side of the pond!!

Yep - you can probably buy a new set of wheels for that cost!!

My bad...

Did you get them done?

I'm just waiting for 2 wheels to come back from a repairers. 90GBP per wheel. If I am happy with the results i'll let you know who I used. They originally quoted a 3 day turnaround. One week on they are not back but we have had a bank holiday which may have delayed them.

To update just got the wheels back and can confirm that the job was a good one.

Company: Pristine Alloy Wheel Refurbishers
Address: Newport Road, Woburn Sans, Milton Keynes MK17 8UD
Tel: 01908 282628

They did:

Wheel one had edging to pretty much the whole wheel caused by driving through icy snow.

Wheel two had a damaged section on the face of the wheel which happened when a tyre was being changed.

Have you got pictures of the refurb ones so that we can compare them to an original untouched one please?

Cheers

I had mine done at my local VW dealer - one was slightly nicked due to some of our exciting new roa surface additions post winter (ahem) and the other was pure driver error. I was worrid that I might be looking at a new wheel on the nicked one, but no problem. They came back absolutely perfect. I had the tyres changed at the same time, that cost a bit more (!). However, the two things were not linked in VW's eyes. I was surprised because I was expecting their price to be outrageous, so I was very pleased.

They did send them off, I could ask where they went but I am in West Sussex, so not exactly close!
