I am not one to complain about the VW service center or dealer.... I don’t mind waiting 2 days for them to return your call, and a further 2 weeks until they can get your car in. I do however get a little annoyed when you take your car there, only to have it returned worse than what it came in. A couple of months ago I noticed a minor squeak in the rear left c pillar, and one of the driver windows squeaked a little upon locking and unlocking the car. I took it to the service centre, they had it for 2 days, fixed the c pillar by adding some felt material to stop parts rubbing together. But then proceeded to rectify my minor window squeak by applying so much lube to ALL the seals in the car that I had lube EVERYWHERE, inside and out, then of course they washed my car (very nice of them) but this just made the lube run down the windows and into the doors!
2 months on, every time I open the windows, I get streaks on the inside of the glass, and when it rains, lube runs down from the roof and window seals onto the exterior of the glass. I have rang and expressed my frustrations, and booked my car in at the service centre for next week, they have offered to take apart the doors and windows and clean off all the grease they put on, inc all my roof seals, but I do wonder if they can actually remove it to the point where it will not streak and cloud my windows. And I thought they would use a lubricant that wouldn’t run in water and is suited to convertibles (krytox?), although if you use that much of anything you’ll end up with the same problem.
