I got my eos a April 07 5 weeks ago noticed a couple of drips on both sides from seals near main roof and rear window
Dealers had for 2 weeks now, and phoned today told me that they had been given wrong info for fitting seal by VW
my question is has anyone had the car from new and lubricated seals regularly had any problems ?
As from reading a lot of info new owners probably changing every 2 years will probably not bother about the seals as i think this has happened in my case
any information appreciated

You might get away with not lubricating the seals however it could come back and bite you in the form of a reduced trade-in valuation when you decide to change cars. You can be certain most used car appraisers will be aware of potential leak problems and will look at the condition of the seals to ascertain if they have been regularly treated when appraising your car.

I suspect the reduction in value will be significantly more than the cost of Krytoxing the seals.

I actually found it quite theraputic lubing up my car! :D

Worth it in the long run especially if you do plan on keeping the car past it's warranty. Surely it's better to do it than to not do it and run the risk of getting a leak that goes unnoticed for a while?

I got my Eos back today they have replaced seals on both sides this was suppose to be a few days job that turned into 2 1/2 weeks because VW gave dealer incorrect fitting instructions
They are in the process of sorting out some compensation
I was supplied with a polo but not good when it was hot no aircon or roof down the reason we got the Eos

I think the original owner probably got the car on solutions as it had only done 10,000 miles after 2 years
They are not going to spend money on Krytox as the warranty will cover any problems

I intend to keep the car for years so will be doing seals regular

I must admit that this is the first car I have really been excited with and really enjoy driving
