Who else here uses the seatbelt holders (the snappy straps on the sides of the seats)? I have had my Eos about a month now and have noticed some serious wear on the bottom of mine from where my seatbelt is rubbing on it.. I picked up some adhesive patches (for khaki pants) at the store today that are almost the same color.. I think I'm going to try to wrap them around the straps to see how it looks.. Anyone else having this issue and come up with a work-around?

Yes, others have experienced this.
Some have placed some clear plastic tubing around the strap.
Maybe VW will come up with a more visually pleasing fix.

I just don't use them. Maybe it is just because I never got used to having them in any car before. Please let us know if you have any luck finding an easy fix.

Seatbelt holder

I haven't looked to see if there is wear on mine, but will look when I get to my car to go home. Please let me know if your idea works...seems like I may need a fix too if a lot of people are having this issue.

Mine are worn, although I no longer use them. Doesn't look like they would be easy to replace either as they're stitched in to the seam of the seat.

I had read about the wear problem, but tried them anyway. i didn't like the odd angle of the seatbelt coming through the holders so I don't use them. Now if I could just rememebr to stop letting go of the seat belt too soon so that it doesn't whack against the side of the interior!!

This does not really help much but those of us without leather seating don't suffer any of the wear problems your are seeing.

Mine are worn too and have been since the car was about 2 months old. I still use them though as it does make it much easier to retrieve the belt rather than having to reach right back to get it.

I'm going to mention it to the dealer when I go in for my 5k service but figure it will look horrible by then... I use this so its easier to retreive the seatbet and it keeps the feeling of a twisted seatbelt off my shoulder. I love it.

Did you say 5k service monkeymojo? is that normal in the US?
In the UK its 10k or longer if you opt for the variable service.

By the way I have cloth seats and use the straps but no wear after 2k miles, but still early days yet. I would have thought leather would have been tougher!

The strap is probably plastic...it isn't part of the "seating surface".
Think you're right - VW have cheapskated and made them in plastic rather than leather.. Maybe they'll put that right eventually as the wearing on them looks horrible! If everyone claims for a new one on their warranty they'll eventually find it cheaper to fit better ones in the first place!

Mine appear to be leather. About the 5k service, I am paranoid about waiting 10k to get a oil change to I argued with my dealer until they agreed to do it at 5k intervals.

Unless I am mis-reading the owners manual, in the U.S. first service is at 5000 miles, second is at 10,000 miles, and every 10,000 miles thereafter.
