In France only the 3.2 gets the chrome slats in the grille. I've ordered the wood trim but that doesn't include the stereo surround. Pity I think it would look better than the silver.

The first 4 weeks of UK RHD production didn't have the chrome grille slats or alu console trim but it was changed from mid June production onwards also to include 'cherry red tail light clusters' which you are hard pushed to tell from the standard items...

These were originally offered in Germany as part of the 'Individual' range you could choose from but it was decided to include them on Sport trim in UK to set these more expensive models apart from the less expensive ones a little.

Interesting info there neh321 - didn't realise the first 4 weeks didn't have the different trim. Gotta say though I prefer it in the black (guess I was lucky) :)

Surprised that it was for so short a period - especially considering my Eos had it's first registration in Nov 06 and then I picked it up in Feb this year (albeit with 50 or so miles on the clock). Must have been sitting around for ages.

Of course it's only the Sport trim models that get the alu trim, chrome grille slats and cherry red rear light clusters so if yours isn't a 'Sport' then that would be why you don't have them!

thanks for the info
now i look at it not so sure i want the silver trim on the dash as tends to split it up
really cant see a difference in rear light clusters, you sure on that one?
think i may try and get the chrome grill slats though especially on a black car!
hope thats the only differences, anybody hear of any upgrades or recalls?
leaks concern me but checked boot was dry any changes made with the seals?
cheers

Yes, rear lights are different but you have to be a real anorak to spot how! Not really sure why they bothered.

Personally prefer the alu trim on the dash - it sets the interior a bit further apart from the Golf and relieves the blackness a bit. Of course it's very trendy at the moment too.
