Perhaps a set of caterpillar half tracks would be better suited to the Eos than snow tyres during an Ontario winter :D:D:D.

For my 2011 EOS I found four lightly used (4000km) 215 55 16's from a former Passat owner. Original VW rims. The dealer gave me the thumbs up re fit. I will update if they work well. The reduction in width will hurt dry pavement performance.. but help a lot with snow & ice. The brand of winter tire is Artic Claw.. a good winter tire made by Cooper.

winter tires

I just traded my EOS but still have a very low milage set of top-of-the-line Hankook iPike winter tires on the original 17" Eos alloy rims. Very well reviewed tires, and I thought they were great. Also very good looking aggressive tire. 235-45-17s.
I live in Markham, but happy to meet you more than part way to Cobourg if you're interested. I'll also give you a 97% full bottle of the (overpriced) VW krytox to use on the rubber seals on the roof to prevent leaks and squeaking. It really does work. (Remember, don't use regular silicone lubricant. Not good for these seals.)
