I am just specing my EOS TDI

Do i really need a sport version? i want to change the wheels anyway so to me all i need to do is have a normal TDI but upgrade the stereo to 8 speaker version (even though i thought i had read on here somewhere that thay all come with 8 speakers now) !!

I am specing xenons... will i be impressed or really no need ?

Also it will be in Red...some dealers are saying that i will be hit on the re-sale value ?

Your comments please on the above or any other norts i should consider.

:)

Specification really is a personal thing.
Mine is a Sport and one of the things I particularly like about it is the slightly lowered suspension. I find Eoses on 16 inch wheels and 'normal' suspension look a bit high and stubby, whilst those with lowered suspension and bigger wheels look much sleeker. It makes far more difference than you might think. Maybe you get lowered suspension anyway if you get bigger wheels as you say you will. And maybe you're not bothered anyway!

The only other Sport items are trim I think. I have Xenons and personally find them absolutely brilliant but if most of your motoring is city/motorway rather than country roads they could be a bit of a waste of money.

Red again is a personal thing and will undoubtedly be worth less/be harder to sell than a nice 'safe' metallic colour.

A non-red Ferrari is worth less than a red one but with all other cars it's the other way around!

hi i ordered my eos in november it comes in march but ive gone for...
2.0 Tdi Sport
Island grey met paint (life shine too)
Full cornsilk beige nappa leather
18" Chicago alloys
Ipod connection armrest
Luxury pack
Multi funtion steering wheel
Two coloured dash half black half cornsilk

I test drove one like it apart from it had the panoramic glass for the roof it was lovely! the roof leaked though and the salesman said they would have to send it back to the factory as they cant sell it like it.

Bought a Sport in red.
Although it is a flat red it is actually a much better colour than you might think. Spec'd 17in wheels as well.
The ride is firm, though not uncomfortable and would have been tempted just to get the "normal" Eos, but at the time you had to pay more for 8 speakers so just went for the Sport instead. The road holding is excellent.

When the time comes to sell, you'll either be lucky that red has a rarity value or it will be "difficult". Best to up-spec so it stands out - which is why I added leather, dual zone climate, cruise, westwoods and lux pack (auto lights, dimming mirror, folding door mirrors). Didn't rate the Xenons as worth another £ 800 and the SatNav is luidcrously overpriced.

Red is not as unpopular as you might think, as saw one a few days ago in the car park up the road - to date have seen a 56 plate, 07 plate, 07 plate and 57 plate all in the same car park.....

Thanks for that, I did not know an Eos like that existed, sounds nice though must have a look at the dealers for one in the flesh.

Have never heard of that one. You mean the rear part of the roof is also glass? All Eoses have a glass sunroof over the front seats but as far as I know there is no option for any more glass than that?

So does anybody agree that you get 8 speakers as standard in any model

panoramic glass roof

Maybe one had the shade pulled and the other did not?

"Roof - Panoramic power glass sunroof, externally guided, tilt and sliding, with tinted glass, and manual sunshade - Powered by electrical motor. Includes pinch protection"

Did a quick search, several reviews mentioned the panoramic sun roof with the shade. If it was the entire roof, I doubt it would have a shade. So they are all probably the same, and as has been.

Anyway, I think we all have panoramic power glass sunroof. Great, huh?
I really love this car.

The panoramic roof they are talking about is the part of the roof that opens like a sunroof. Panoramic just means the sunroof portion is lager than usual and provides more view whether it is open or closed. The rear section of the roof is metal. If you put a magnet on it, the magnet will stick. Why it is painted black is anyone's guess.

That's what I thought. Only the original Concept C that the Eos is based on had a full glass roof including the rear section, but I guess that was impractical for production.

the rear part of the roof was made from glass i think not sure i didnt sit in the back lol. i guess its tinted because of not having sun visors in the back so the sun would be blinding (not that it is here in uk) :)

It's simply not an option. If you were looking at it from the outside then it looks exactly the same as the glass front part - i.e. very dark and looks like glass. But on the inside the roof is covered by headlining and it's where the sun-shield slides out of the way to.

I had always wondered what the car would look like if the rear roof section was painted to match the car and if the rear window did not have the big black border. I like the color of our Eos (Eismeer Blue) and have not been real thrilled about all the black that shows.

Hi Jo. My Eos is in the red with the cornsilk leather and it is a beautiful combination. The red is stunning. The staff at my dealership loved the colour too and nobody mentioned it as having a poorer resale value. Go for it!

I am happy with the colour too

Do you find the 18" wheels give you too hard a ride...i live in speed hump city.

Speed Hump City? You don't live in Hull do you? We have more than any other city in the UK and some of them are absolutely Vicious!
