If this is a standing start you are talking about improving the chipping causes more problems with wheel spin. Where the benefits really start to come in are in the high speed overtaking. The traction on the Eos is very poor so won't really benefit from more power in the 0-62mph stakes.

Dsg?

Do you have the DSG ("Auto" transmission)?

I have no chipping experience, and this is my first turbo car, so consider that when reading this, but I have the DSG, and have come to the conclusion that the lag at launch is not really turbo lag so much as the clutch letting out.

DSG isn't really an automatic transmission - It is more like a robotic manual transmission, if that makes any sense. If you pull out with light throttle, and imagine yourself letting out the clutch with your left foot, the feeling matches that very well. Give it heavier throttle, and the "clutch release" feels quicker.

Again, just my impression after a week of ownership, and if you have 6-speed manual, nevermind.

On a side note, I'm a former Alexandrian; lived there for 8 years before moving to Long beach 2 years ago.

I know there has been software updatings for lack of power below 1500 RPM for Passat 3C 2.0 tdi PD140 and for EOS tdi, do you know?

Goi g to have my EOS undergo a number of minor repairs (and one big one which is I have water now staging below my feet inside...) next week. I have asked they check the car for power and reactivity when pressing the accelerator as I believe it has lately become milder than it used ot... I will ask about any service note or recall for S/W or H/W updates.

My dealer provided a vw recall service change of a low pressure fuel sensor. My car has a revo software upgrade as well. Had to set that to stock when at the dealer. Anyway the recall correction has helped the pedal lag
