Hi

I let the husband drive my car today and hes called to say that it got hit by a pretty big stone and has a massive / deep stone chip in the bonnet

Anyone got any idea how much this might cost to repair?

I had a chip to the primer caused by a stone, and it was about $450.00 US. I don't know how that relates to the UK though.

I am lucky in that my dealer has a body shop where they do most of the local police repairs, so felt comfortable with them doing work on my Eos.

The only proper way to repair a big chip in the bonnet is to respray it. Unfortunately this tends to leave the paint on the bonnet a little more prone to chipping in the future, as new paint is never as tough as factory paint. At least that's what a chap in my bodyshop told me when I made an enquiry.
