Can't help you except to say don't accept that from the dealer! There MUST be a way!

Disagree with the dealer - keep on trying. If replacement is your only option then it won't matter if you break it.

Looks like some good tips here. Hope I don't ever have to give them a try.

Normally one of the CD's has jumped off the internal runners. This generally happens with the 6 CD units. Only sure way is to remove the top cover (which invalidates stereo warranty) and push CD gently back into slot.

If the car and stereo are still under warrenty dont mess with it and just get them to replace it then get them to replace the CD as well whilst they are at it

Have not had this happen to the Eos but it did happen to the multichanger in the Polo I had last and all was sorted through VW warrenty.
