HI Guys,

Been out in the car today and realised that i dont know if the standard eos alloys are bolted on and if so where is the unlocking tool??

Also noticed in the boot that there is a gap with staps in line with the licence place and i wondered if this is where the warning triangle goes in which case where can i get a warning tringle that fits?

Hi

They do a warning triangle in the safety pack:

http://www.volkswagenaccessories.co.uk/accessories/details?part_no=FAPPTSP

But it's a bit pricey although includes a high vis jacket which is always very very attractive and therefore worth the money!! :D :p

Isn't the tool in the spare wheel space? It was with my peugeot I had before....

There's always been the law that you need a warning triangle there; the change is that you need the high viz jacket now too! And you must keep it IN the car, not in the boot, as if you have to get out to get it from the boot you'll get clobbered for not wearing it! Nice guys, the French Gendarmes..

In that case maybe that pack isn't such a bad purchase! Can we have pics of you wearing the jacket next to ur Eos with the triangle on the floor??! I fancy a laugh!!! :D

You need a hi-viz vest for each passenger in the car.
Seems all the markets here in france are selling them. I paid 5 Euro each so your UK price is a steal.
It's a hefty fine if you get caught without them. Can't remember how much, but now I have mine I don't doesn't bother me.:D
It's just the vest that needs to be inside the car, the triangle can stay in the boot.

There is a key in the box with the jack for the wheel lock. There is also a little wire looking thingy for picking off the plastic lug covers.

Is the wire thingy for ladies who have false nails??! I always used to struggle with that bit when changing the wheels on my last car and broke many a nail in attempting to get the "lug" covers off!!! :D

Doolallygril,
Yes, I guess the wire thingy is for ladies with false nails. Also for those of us with small brains. I took the jack out of the box :D that sounded funny. Any way, went to loosen the lugs without taking the covers off. I was ready to bad mouth VW because the locking key would not have fit, when I realized they had plastic covers. Felt pretty dumb since I am an engineer. But you know engineers never read manuals, or directions. We know everything right?

hay ho :)

hehe i dont have long or false nails but if its cold and wet those things are a bugger to get off so a wire thing sounds good idea

Jim i got the high vis vests from hivis dot net

and i picked up 2 warning triangles on ebay inc postage for under £10 :) but are the same that the AA are selling for £17 each !!! bargain :) so both cars are sorted.

(hubbies warning triangle was a bit small so picked him a new one)

I have got 2 extra clear bags (type you get for putting your liquids into for a plane) for making up first aid kits for the car inc those tin foil blanket thingys (cant see the point in paying £5 for a few plasters) so i am making up custom first aid kits with what i know i will need. As i go to the allotment in the car adding a tweezers to remove splinters, astma inhailer etc You know the kind of thing :)

Yes it will have plasters and stuff so dont panic :)

Just a tip for your First Aid kit. I got a packed lunch bag from Tesco, put all the First -aid stuf in there and store it in the centre pass through section. Stops it taking up room in the boot.

Wow, I've never been bothered in my 8 years of driving to take a first aid kit or emergency pack or anything with me, not even a blanket in case of breakdowns! Hmm maybe I just have a little too much faith in my trusty mobile, the rescue services and my Eos! :p

I just like to be prepared, i had a friend in a mustang get stuck in the snow and it took them 2 hours to be rescued because the road had become a car park and they got brought to tescos to warm up and had to sit there for 6 hours before they could be brought home and he got his car the next day :(
