3 weeks in and I am loving my EOS (wish I could say the same about the weather since receiving it) – and trying to find every opportunity to open the roof when it’s not raining! I am looking at installing a Double din unit with sat nav etc and want to install an amplifier and sub (and possibly a reverse camera0) however I am a little nervous about installing the sub and the impact it could have when the roof is folded away in the boot – would it rattle loads and worse still cause damage to the sensors etc.

I may be being over cautious however would be grateful if anyone who has gone through a major ICE install on their EOS could advise me and just put my mind at rest. Also, any forum members tinted their EOS in Nottingham? I am after recommendations for an installer

Thanks

I have done a double-din aftermarket install. I too was thinking about doing a full ICE makeover, I did a couple workups of some sub installs that would most likely work, my concern is covering my pass through and losing too much space back there. I lost my pass ability on my old car and it has come in handy a little bit so far on the eos. As long as you don't try and go crazy with a huge kicker sub and try and pound out bass, I think you should be ok. I can't talk about tint as I haven't done it but I have heard of some issues and others with no problems. I figure I will wait a winter to see if I really want it as most of the time if the weather is nice, the top and windows are down.

Glad to see someone else looking to do some eos mods. Do you have the dynaudio system?

No, I didn't go for the Dynaudio upgrade, kind of regret it now. I am thinking about just going for the headunit upgrade and not bothering with the sub for now. Maybe speaker upgrades to produce better sound, although if I am honest the standard speakers sound okish for now. As for tints I am in 2 minds myself and see how it goes. I noticed however that you have the smart top installed in your car. Did you install it yourself or through a mechanic, I want to order myself one but would rather have it fitted than do it myself - again anyone from Notts able to advise on good fitters?
