this is a copy of an important question already posted by me on vwvortex if anyone can help

i am having problems with pinched sunroof rubbers
have put on plenty of Krytox and followed online instructions somewhere else in this forum
but rubbers still pinching
on close examination it appears the sunroof is ever so slightly skewed causing the front left side and the rear right side rubbers to pinch
question is is there any 'fine' adjustment that can be made as changing the rubbers will not cure the problem?
or, as i expect the dealer will do, is bend the runner

Mine used to pinch a little in the middle at the drivers side only. I used the ignition key to prise the rubber up. I then put Krytox on the seals to see if it would help but after 4 weeks no joy (sun roof not used very much though). I used the Krytox with a cotton bud next time to push down into the base of the seal and gave it a good working in just at the problem area. After several uses of the sunroof the problem now seems to have resolved.

cheers for the reply
have done a lot of massaging of the rubbers with krytox to no avail, but like you said it may get better in time.
roof is definately out though and looks like it could do with a bang with a rubber mallet, but i will leave that to dealer as cant see any adjustments

as a follow up i had car with the dealer today who informs me that this is a known problem and vw are looking into it.
thats after they took the car in for the day ,put 20 miles on it, scratched it, plastered the rubbers with silicon cos they 'didnt have the 'special stuff' which they managed to get over the interior. i had already told them i had put krytox on them. oh and then tried to wash the mess off spreading it onto the glass and leaving the car dry in the sun after using dirty water!
and failed to find a squeek from the fromt suspension
i knew i had been spoiled with lexus dealers but i hope this is a unique dealer as i wont be going back there in a hurry.

Dealers who provide service like that should be removed by VW from having a franchise. Hope this is not symptomatic of VW dealers in general, I have not used mine since making the purchase. Once bitten twice shy, if it happened to me I would not be buying any more VWs, Eos or not!

pacemaker if I were you I would be putting a strong complaint to the customer care manager at the dealers and if you get no joy there I would contact VW UK

Ok, thats a sensitive issue for me.. the chimpanzee-like service from dealers...

First of all the manual clearly states.. DON'T USE SILICONE ON THE DAMN EFFING ROOF SEALS.... Ok I embelished it a bit.. but you get the point.

second.. just not knowing how to wash a car...

third .. a scratch... I mean call my mama what youw ant but scratch my car.. in a service station!?!?!! i swear.. grease monkeys should go to paint job senistivity training...

sorry i'm venting here.... Too many ass backwards service techs....

i've been hearing alot about the lexus service techs.. are they really that good?
