Hi,

Been a while since I last posted but thought you lot might have some tips before I go trekking off to the dealer.

Was out and about today with the roof down (about 6 degrees C) got home and closed the roof. Everything was fine until the sunroof was closing - it got half way and then just stopped dead.

Tried opening it and closing again and that didn't work, then tried resetting with the method in the manual and that didn't help. Finally just as I was about to drive to the local dealer who I don't like to use I wondered if I should give it a push.

So I pushed it nothing happened, then I pushed the close button and gave it a gentle push this worked and the sunroof closed.

So any ideas what could be wrong?

Cheers

p.s. Should have posted this in Tech Q & A - oops - Have fixed this for you and it is now in the right section - David aka silvershadow

Do I remember seeing something about not using the roof in temperatures that are too low otherwise it might affect the opening/closing?

Or have I been dreaming?!

I'm sure I was told it was -5 degrees centigrade but could be wrong. I wouldn't use it in -5 degree heat anyway! lol :)

There is something in the manual about not opening the roof at too low a temperature - which is apparently -15C!!!

I think if it was that cold I wouldn't be opening the front door to even think about getting in the car :)

I know this is an old thread, but as it was never fully resolved I am adding another post.

I am experiencing exactly this problem. It sometimes stops in mid position (at the point where the elevation of the sunroof changes a bit) and clearly the motor is a bit strained there. Occasionally it will just barely get past this critical position without intervention.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I just got the car 2 weeks ago…
