Just back from a holiday in Mallorca where we hired an EOS for ten days. Not sure of full spec but it didn't have Sports suspension and what a difference it made to the ride quality and general refinement of the car! I've had mine with Sports suspension for nine months and just accepted that some shake would be there but this has put a whole new complexion on it. Has anybody else driven both versions over a period of time and noticed the difference or is my car "flawed" in some way? The roads by the way are mostly very good surfaces and put many UK roads to shame, but even on poorer surfaces my hire car was a smooth ride and I could see cars in the rear mirror with next to no shimmy.
Any comments?

My ride is lowered with Eibach Pro Kit, on certain bumpy roads, the scuttle shakes can be in the front (near the sunroof connection) to the rear C segment etc, as if the roof is shaking! Prior to it, its still the usual shims at the C segment which I've got used to.

Thats my experience since I drove with oem suspension for a month (about 2,500km worth of mileage) before installing the Eibachs :D

Hmmm, as convertibles go, the EOS has less scuttle shake than probably any other...

If you look under the car, you will see a steel plate fixed to the bottom (makes engine work a bitch though, cos u have to take it off!). This compensates for the roof not being fixed. It does work and I find the EOS very solid for such a big convertible.

Does your kit include adjustable shock absorbers and are they adjustable for both up [bounce] and down [rebound] travel?

If so, you may need to make some adjustments to allow more suspension movement before the cornering/ road surface loads are transferred from the suspension to the body structure. Whilst this reduces the ultimate cornering ability of the car; it improves the ride by several orders of magnitude greater than the loss of cornering ability. The only place where cornering ability takes precedence over ride comfort is the race track. IMHO :) .

If you do not have the interest in experimenting yourself, a good after-market suspension specialist should be able to set your car up to minimise scuttle shake, improve the ride and keep the cornering ability at a reasonable cost.
