My Dealership will install the Parrot system. I'm calling them for details tomorrow. If they are too outrageous with installation fee, I may wind up doing it myself. I just don't savor the thought of tearing into the dash on the 4th day of my lease!

Plus, if they install, hopefully they will support.

Hi
on those models for sale in France, the phone button is used to pick-up calls or hang up WHEN teh car is equipped with the DynAudio+SatNav+Bluetooth option, available at time of order (it's the only option I have NOT bought for my EOS...). Luke, you're probably better off buying a BT headset/earplug... Your hands will remain on the steering wheel and you should have very good sound quality (well not at 90mph roof down...).. Even better off just NOT using the phone in the car... In France, hands-on phoning has been forbidden by law since day one of mobile phones... Costs 2 ou of 12 points on license, and over 90 EUR (150 USD) fine

VW just sent their US customers the latest quarterly magazine and it has an article saying that VW dealers in USA can now retrofit most newer VW autos with the phone steering wheel button with a VW Bluetooth kit . No pricing or other details.

Personally I bought 3rd party stuff and did it myself - I used the Parrott hands free bluetooth kit (CK3000 if I recall correctly) and a Audicom module that replaces the Parrott control head so that the steering wheel buttons control everything on the Parrott bluetooth system. The cost of the materials was about $300.

I would guess that VW has priced the add-on with installation labor well over $500 US, if anyone knows please add to the thread, thanks.

You can install a Parrot bluetooth kit (mine is CK3000 Evolution) plus Parrot Multican MFSW module and the phone button will work.

Its the cheap solution.
