Re the lights, I took the dealer manager out last night after dark and we almost wiped out 3 people walking by the side of the road as we did not see them.

We have determined that you have to be roughly 25 feet behind the car you are following to light up the very bottom of their tyres, and much closer if you want to light up their registration plate.

They are trying to source another car asap but at the moment, I am still very much in the dark (no pun intended :p )

Well done for getting the dealer out in the car. I think if I were you I'd get the lights changed to normal headlights and demand a substantial refund or some big extra. If they source a new car it wont be the same spec and you will have a long wait for a new one.
Just my 2 pence, David

Gavin,

What? Sorry, have been away for a while and just noticed your post. Xenons...bad light...bad job. I live down the craziest twistiest coastal road ever, and my xenons are fantastic. Without trawling through posts I can only say the car doesn't sound roadworthy, and immediate action by your dealer and VW is needed. By 'trying' to source another Eos is ignoring the legality of the situation, to me. Remind them of the Road Traffic Act. Sorry to come in at the middle of something I've missed. Good luck.

John

Hang in there Gavin .... you've got a lot of allies. Make sure you get what you want, whatever you decide. In the meantime, they should be providing you with safe, substitute wheels at no charge!

Hi Gavin!
at least you got the manager out in the car at long last, hopefully they will sit up and take notice now.
All the best.
