...absolutely NOWHERE.

There have been a number of people having bad experiences of late, but I'd just to say they still appear to be few and far between. I've had my EOS for 3 months now and I'm still of the opinion it's an absolutely fantastic car. I LOVE everything about it.

So THERE.

After 12 months, I've been lucky too .......... I love my EOS and I really do have a GREAT dealer! So, as long as that string holds I hang in there! But I must admit, if it weren't for the dealer, don't think I would have taken the chance!

Hi Folks--

The only misgiving I'm having about my Eos is my fault-- I didn't negotiate a larger mileage allowance during the lease agreement. I just ended the first year of a 3-year lease and already I've chalked up over 16,000 miles on a 36,000 mi. allowance. The two Beetles I leased had an allowance of 15,000 mi. per year; I should have held out for as much on Legolas, my Paprika Red/Black trophy, but I caved in to get a lower note.

I've already hinted to the general manager at the dealership I patronize that I will probably bring my Eos in for a trade at the end of the 2nd year in 2008 to avoid the over-mileage penalty, and he seems verbally at least to be agreeable. But after having acquired four cars from him in the past five years, I believe they want to retain me as a customer.

Overall, the sales and service has been excellent in those five years. Since I don't know if it's okay to name names I won't, but I will say that it's in west suburban Atlanta. And my next trade will of course be another Eos--either be another Paprika Red/Black beauty or Black/Black.

See y'all on Peachtree Road. I'll be playing Vince Guaraldi's "Lucy and Linus" all the way thru Halloween.

Agreed! 5 months and 14k miles of trouble free motoring [well, someone in France dinged the door in a car park, and some b*****d kids have stolen the shiny wheel nut covers - but thats it]. Engine has used more oil than I was expecting but seems to be settling down now - and the car has withstood being driven daily on a cross country commute with no ill effects. I'm happy, especially as I've heard the words "what a cool car" quite a few times now, and thats NEVER happened before!

You could have well hit the nail on the head, did have an assortment of recorded and factory produced cds in changer, when the prob occured it was always on cd3, and yes that was a recorded disc. Have changed all cds for legit ones, hopefully that will be the end of the freezing.
Cheers

Its probably not the cdr or cdrw difference. I use cdrw, but I burn it just like I would a cdr. Make sure that you write the cd so that it can be read on all computers under all formats. Do not burn it as a multisession cd, make sure it is written to only be written on that one time. If you wish to add more albums to a cdrw, copy them back over to your hard drive, erase the cdrw, and rerecord the whole disk as a single session.

CD-R is totally the right choice....:D

CDRW discs are diffderent format\structure & unless the player in a vehicle has the "Multiplayer" functionality, it wont be able to understand how the data was written to it - much less to how its to be retrieved.

Its very interesting how the 2 types actually record data actually. CDRWs are pretty amazing in the way in which they do this as opposed to CD-R's

Thats kinda disappointing though - as it means the Eos CD Players are still using somewhat old player technology.
It would be excellent to have USB interfaces offered. iPod interface is good...but imagine the user friendliness & capabilities of the USB interface - you could keep, 1\2\3\4 GB of audio on it in a CDA, or MP3 or WMA format.

How good would that be

I had one problem, It seemed that the boys @ wolfsburg did not know anything about the Houston, Tx heat factor and the compressor died, They had to get one from Germany, which took 2 and a half week to get here and fix. Luckily I got a free rental for the duration. part of the $500 dealer charge service that they tagged on in the beginning. The service writer told me that it has been a recurring thing in this 100 degree heat we have here.
but aside from that, 8 mths and under $6000miles later, I still am amazed at this thing of beauty everytime I open up my door to the garage. (yeah under 6000 miles, I love home officing!!)

Hi down under...
..decided to go for a USB port as a 126EURO option when ordering my now-six-weeks-old EOS 2.0 TDI DSG Carat with xenons... It's indeed great to have one 2GB Mozart-loaded stick and one 4GB rock/jazz/soul loaded usb key... All hiden in the arm's rest. And I also can play the latest songs from my iPOD nano on it, by using a USB-to-iPOD cable... The only drawback is it does not red song titles and my large radio screen only displays track numbers...
Cheers

Hey there Fred, nice to hear from you.

Now that is good info and an excellent setup.
Top marks to you.
Its a pity it wont display the track indo from your USB on the display etc...

Can you change tracks using the steering wheel controls - or is it just the volume steering wheel control that works?

Adieu!
