After 5 failed attempts and seven months to try and fix car I have decided it is time to get rid of my Eos It is shame because I really love the car but the problems I have had I do not think it worthwhile keeping her. Now the decision as what to have next.

IF you want to stay with VW I can heartily recommend the new Scirroco. A friend has the 2.0T and it's very rapid. Boot is a bit small but it's very nice inside (the car, not the boot!). If you're still after a convertible the new A3 is very classy, as is the BMW 1-series but both are very over-priced (IMO) for what you get and certainly not worth the premium over a similar spec Eos.

As my Eos is booked in for 2 leaks to be investigated at the end of this month I'm convinced that I'll be trading it in soon also (only had it 4 months) for something just as lovable but slightly less 'leakable'.

Come to think of it, think I'd wait for the MkVI Golf GTI in the Autumn. I had a MkV and it was excellent. Same engine (and reason why I bought the Eos) as the Eos but without the susceptibility to let in water!

That's really sad. I'm hoping after my second attempt they fix mine up once and for all. Not sure I have the strength to keep going 5 times for repair, especially as you only really have to give them 3 chances.

I have already been looking myself as to a replacement "just in case" :(

If you want to stay with a convertible I cannot recommend the Ford Focus CC3 - it leaks worse than the Eos! Personally after 18 months of battling with Ford/VW to repair my cars, I would probably look towards a BMW/Merc/Audi for the next convertible to try. Simply with the theory that the more you pay the less leaks you are likely to have. Would have to go second hand AGAIN I guess but hopefully it would have lost the initial "drop" in price from the forecourt etc.

Let us know what you decide on when you do get a new car though. :)

Try the very new Peugeot 308 CC. It's very nice car. In my opinion more beautifull then EOS but EOS is the only one with sunroof and is a big advantage!

Don't think you'll get many on this website who'll agree with you that the Peugeot 308CC is more beautiful than the Eos!

Actually don't think either of them could be described as 'beautiful' but the Eos is much much better proportioned and sleeker and is much better looking as a result - in my opinion!

I don't agree... The EOS is the best one. It has the best roof and the best everything!

Whilst you have had bad luck, there isn't a fundamental issue with the EOS and I imagine the dealer is the issue with the car not getting fixed, not the car!

Where do you live?
