This morning, it was 0.5C, my windows were frosted up, and obviously I couldn't get into the car. A bit of water, and the window went down an inch. A common thing with my Eos now, but its like when you're married, you learn to put up with the minor short comings of your other half because you love them - thats how it is with me & my Eos.

10:30am, the temperature had gone up by 4.5C and the hood was down and I made an excuse to get out of work and take it for a spin.
Happy Days:)

Bah !!!

Hi Kuz,

I popped home at lunch time and the temp was 7 degrees C and the sky was clear & blue. I would have dropped the roof except for 3 reasons.

1. They haven't built my Eos yet.

2. I'm driving around in a Mondeo hire car.

3. My other convertible is in the scrap yard.

Roll on April.........

Did I mention that I like the spec of your Eos to be:

'no roof, spare in the boot'

Classic

Hey its sounds like we are kindred spirits. People say to me "Why are you getting a convertible, its never that sunny in the UK". They obviously don't get it as its the feeling of the wind and driving in the open that gives me the buzz.

If was dry and not icy, I would have the roof down in the CC. Even if it was just a couple of miles. People may look at you oddly but who cares. I'd do the run back down the M4 with the roof down and wind deflector up. Blows out the cobwebs and livens you up after hours of dull meetings.

There's a saying that I believe originated with Jeep owners.

Either you get it, or you never will.

I think it also applies to Eos owners.

In my stable, I have a '06 Jeep Commander Limited and a '08 Eos Lux. I prefer driving the latter except on those days when I need the former.

what an evening

Its 7:45pm here in the UK and I just got home.

I had my top down all day. I left work at 5:30pm & went swimming. Came out at 6:15pm and just put the top down and just drove it around for an hour.
I couldn't believe it - it was 11C  and i was loving it

Had top off all day today. We went for a trip over Dartmoor - Haytor, Widecombe, Dartmeet, Princetown, etc. Despite being half term we only saw one other car with their top off, a Mk1 Sprite. Weather was lovely but still some snow left on the moors. By late afternoon the wind had veered to the North so it became much cooler but warm & snug inside the Eos with the wind deflectors up & bum heaters on.

Definately 'top off' weather here in Nottinghamshire today. Lets hope this is the start of a very early spring with a blazing hot summer to come folks - God knows we could all do with something to look forward to under the present economic circumstances !

Most definitely "top off" weather today. I must have seen half a dozen MX5s with their tops off, another elderly Frogeye Sprite, a couple of BMW3 series, a Honda S2000 &, strangest of all, an elderly Fiat 124 Convertible with an equally elderly lady driver really wrapped up in case it snowed again. Good for her!
Till now, I haven't owned a convertible since 1976 (somehow a wife & 2 kids determined that more practical transport was required, something a little larger than a 2+2). Still have the same wife but kids now on their own & even same wife is getting the liking for open air motoring. I think, come the summer, we will be fighting as to who will be doing the driving!

Double Bah !!!!

I am so missing my convertible. My last one is in the scrapyard and the new one is being built. Clear skies is all I need to get the top down.

I'm soooo jealous of you guys and gals......

With all due respects, I would not wish for a blazing hot [unfortunate choice of words] summer like our southern states have experienced this year.

A national memorial service for the 209+ victims of the recent Victorian bushfires was held this morning as a consequence of our b****** h** summer.

Not something I would look forward to under any circumstances - "many a word spoken in jest" particularly comes to mind.

Too true there silvershadow. Having lived in Melbourne for 3 years I do understand your feelings. But back here in the U.K. a 'blazing hot summer' to us means temps of around 70 degrees with the sun shinning! So no disrespect meant.

I have been in the UK during a heatwave in the 1980's - after 6 weeks of no rain in Southern England, water restrictions were in place as the water storage dams were almost empty. Temperatures were also in the mid-30 deg Celsius range.

Made me feel as if I was back home as summer water restrictions are part of our way of life  .

Trust me we dont need a heatwave of any sort to have water restrictions in the U.K. we can have rain all winter and by March the powers that be will already be telling us that we may have water restrictions in the 'summer'! I lived in Southern England in the '80's and I would love to know where abouts they had those sort of temperatures then. I do remember a day when it peaked actually at 30 degs. and I'm told for many weeks in 1976 it really was a scorcher with those sort of temps. every day, but I was out of the country for the whole year then! Typical

Hi Pat,

It's lovely to see you again!! I think it must rain every day here :(

Snobbers is ok I've just kept him away for a while under a cover but used him at the weekend and he was fine. No leaking roof or anything for now (fingers crossed)

How are you love??

That would be here in Hull Pat!
I don't believe that Norm. The sun shone at least twice when we met under the bridge last time (that was the bridge glinting through the fog wasn't it?) I think we must be due another meet there soon, and lunch at that restaurant round the corner?
We fine Steph, EOS still fantastic and Gary still washing it every weekend. Even when it doesn't need it ! Hope to meet up soon.
