Transmission work? Ouch!

I'm a busy girl and have put 58,000 highway miles on my 2.0T. I love it! But it's in the shop for the second major transmission repair which takes weeks at a time! I'm told that it's the valve body. My warranty is up in 2K miles and I don't want to do this every 30 thousand miles. Has anyone else had this problem, or is my baby "special"?
