My most favoured method, is taking it to the valet/car washing place near my gym! Do a much better job than I ever could, and much quicker!:D As it is, where I live is no use for car washing, although I do do it when I'm vistiting the parents as they have such a huge drive! - there I use the Auto glym kit that came with the car, comes up nice and sparkly - can get get bits for decent prices on ebay sometimes.

Sure others will have much better tried and tested methods tho!

Only washed mine once , I too have it cleaned in and out, weekly, BUT I must have left bird muck on boot and it has deffinately marked the boot, WONT COME OUT, so be extra careful, and wipe poo off as it drops !!!!!

Hi

I'd suggest that you have a look on detailingworld.co.uk for advice on all car cleaning topics. The guys posting on there certainly know their stuff - and there are some excellent UK traders whose details are on the site and they can supply terrific stuff from washmitts, shampoo etc thro' to all kinds of wax and polish. The advice available on the forums is great.

My one piece of basic advice would be to throw away your sponge and get a decent washmitt and some good shampoo as a start. Your Eos' paint will be better for it - you'll see why once you've had a look through the forums on DW - happy reading !!

Keep well away from the Auto car washes as their nylon brushes will scratch the top layer lacquer coat and the car will look terrible.

Also don’t use a power washer anywhere near the roof seals as this will cause leaks.

Treat your EOS as if your where bathing your partner and you want go far wrong, on the other hand you may not like your partner so it might be better to leave well alone. ;) ;)

I clean it on my own with Turtle Wax brand cleaner and a big fluffy car wash mit , definitely buy one of those large squeegee, that makes my job so easy, lot less water to clean up and finish it off with microfiber cloth, before that I was using diapers (the cloth kind) they worked great as well, and Windex and newspaper for the oily glass stains, better than any paper towel!

Im getting a free auto glym pack with mine when it comes, with life shine and scotch guard on my nappa leather. maybe you should go into the dealers and ask about the auto glym stuff they have. :)

the autoglym is well worth having. I had mine done before delivery and now all I do is wash and dry the car. It comes up like new. I will re-polish with autoglym set they gave me twice a year to keep it good

iv heard good things about the permagard when autoexpress treated a yellow seat leon. Where did you have yours done and how much was it?

I wasnt offered the lifeshine(autoglym) at dealers, essentially it wasnt mentioned , now I have the eos. I dont know what to do,

shal i just go to halfords and get cleaning kit and not bother as i dont have a spare couple of hundred quid at moment or ....

if i do go halfords what can i get that would do the job that a 300 pound lifeshine pack does..... is a turtlewax product the same

Get a good quality car shampoo and polish and get prepared for a lot of elbow grease. If you love the car you should lavish care on its paintwork and be proud to do it. The lazy option of permaguard treatment does not give you the same satisfaction as the weekly polish. This is just my opinion, that of a traditionalist.

Cheers
