Article here in 4Car http://www.channel4.com/4car/news/news-story.jsp?news_id=17634 . I wonder if the Eos will be recalled too and in Europe.
Thanks! Will anyhow be good to follow-up and understand if the DSG or the engine is affected...It won't be a diesel since that doesn't get imported to the USA. I would think an automatic (DSG) with either the 2.0TFSI or the 3.2V6.
SinceI read that report it has happened to me in the past. When starting the car the engine revs up to about 3-4k rpm and seems to stick there for a few seconds, in fact it seems that it may not want to stop. Its like the accelerator is stuck down (it isn't). Normally it revs up and fall back to idle within a secord.
I dont know if this is what they are taking about or is it somehing more serious. It has only happened 2 or 3 times so far. Any one else had a similar experience?
I'm sure there are more members here with the TFSI engine. Others must have had this problem as well. If enough of us have the problem then perhaps a recall in UK is in order as well.
Are there records of manufacturer recalls driven by customer requests, i.e. a group like this forum, finding out they all have problems and asking jointly to the car manufactruer and then this results in an official recall?
