Hi
I have just received and invitation from VW to take my car to the nearest VW dealer and have it "visualy checked for over 45 items, and all levels filled up" for 15 EUROS, including 1l of oil, 5l of liquid for the wipewashers, up to 1l of oil for the gear box, and up to 1l (or 0.5?) for the brake liquid"... They claim it's a bargain, and will 'help the car be safer and cleaner, for better environmentaly friendly driving'..
Was wondering if this was also offered in the UK or elsewhere, and what do people think having all liquids refilled and some stuff visualy checked can impact the environment....

Can only think that they think a car that's operating at maxumum efficiency is polluting as little as possible. They may be right but doubt it's really much of a difference...

Very good for you and I as the customer but I would think this is more to do witht the delaers trying to drum up business, that saving the environment

Agree 100% - almost the oldest trick in the marketing book.

All they want is to get your car into the workshop then look for as many chargeable repairs as possible, give you a quote and hopefully you will book the car in for repairs.

A percentage of the owners who respond will actually do this so the cost/benefit ratio for the dealer making this offer is quite attractive.
