As you know I got an EOS at the weekend when we picked it up there was no car mats then so had to order them £67 front and back, went to pick them up today and when I phoned they said that the mats were in, got there and only the front mats were in, and the mats had two holes in for the studs but the car has not got studs for the mats spoke to vw and they said I would have to pay for the studs more £££££ it seems just a rip off

Im sure all of the cars come with mats as standard? i'll have a look for you now in the options book, sounds like they are trying to have you over, especially having to get tax on it too what sort of deposit did you put on it?

You think VW are a rip off. Try BMW. They'll charge you extra for the air that comes inside the car if they think they can get away with it!!!

You do have a point though. When you lay out so much for a new car, and they keep wanting more for this/that/the other.

It does leave a nasty taste when you feel they're trying to put their hand in your pocket all the time. Of course they are in business to make money, not to provide a public service, but they do need the customer on their side... BMW salesmen have a much better knack of making you feel privileged to hand over a few more pounds!

Its all the extras, thats how dealers get their margins. VW are no different. The mudflaps for Eos are the MOST expensive I've ever purchased.

As has been demonstrated on this forum before the best course of action before you give your dealer any money is to research your purchase. We want to blame the dealers for everything when it it not always their fault. It is up to the buyer who is hopefully an educated to ask all the pertinent questions on their purchase and get it in writing whether it is regard to standard features, options, or car pricing. Waiting until the last minute before you take delivery or just after you have taken the car is not the time to complain about being cheated. Yes, dealers are there to make money, but it is our responsibility to make sure every thing is proper before we sign our lives and rights away. No, I am not a dealer nor have I worked for one and I would gladly bash one if they did wrong. So far I fairly happy with mine. I paid full price for mine but bought it as one of the first orders the dealer made before the dealers had them on hand, before the first dealer demo arrived.

I think we kind of get used to this (in the UK at least). The last three cars I've bought all needed mats as an extra.

I am not sure where you are at but if you are in the US then the following web site sells VW Eos OEM parts at very fair prices. I don't know what other countries they ship to if you are outside the USA but with the $ to Euro exchange rate what it is if they will ship to Europe it should be a great deal even with shipping. Good luck.
