I installed Bluetooth in my Eos and it works reasonably well with the top up - I have not had a chance to try it with the top down yet.
>What Bluetooth receiver did you buy?
Parrott 3000 Evolution Bluetooth. It is full duplex, has a DSP echo canceller, and a 10W amplifier to drive the speakers. It is plenty loud on the reception and people seem to hear me OK on the transmission. I have had one complaint about being hard to hear out of about 10 calls so far. No problems with audio feedback.
>In the overhead forward center panel (where the 2 reading lights are located), there are 2 little "grates" that look like sound ports for a built-in Bluetooth. Are there actual mikes underneath this area?
No but I installed the Parrott 3000 Microphone in the drivers side grate - I have read posts that say the built in bluetooth available in non-US Eos use this location too.
>I assume from your note that you have the telephone "cancel call" button on the steering wheel hooked up as well.
The Parrott 3000 Evolution Bluetooth comes with its own control head. To use your steering wheel to control the Bluetooth you have to buy an additonal item, the Audicom SW100c, it converts the CAN-BUS signals your steering wheel buttons generate into the signals that the Parrott 3000 would normally get from its own control head, which is not used.
How to:
Get the Audicom VW Wiring Harness Adapter this makes the installation go easier - no wires to cut or splice at rear of the radio. You do have one wire from the Parrot (12V switched) that has to be spliced into a 12V switched source, the 12V accesory outlet below the radio is what I used.
Here is a link to a good how to post with pictures that I followed when I installed the system into my car:

I spent about US $300 for the parts and did the labor myself - it took me about 3 hours.
