Just downloaded the 2009 MY brochure from the German website and - shock horror - they have simply PS'ed the new mirrors on to the old photos. I am appalled

BUT if you look at the front cover, you can see that, having successfully pasted in the new door mirror design, they completely forgot (or just couldn't be arsed) to do the reflection.

Ah ha, Volkswagen, you tight-fistedness has been revealed for all to see

... Interesting - but which came first ?

I feel a Spot the difference competition coming on .....

Did the German brochure designer start with the UK 2008 image and mirror that to make it left hand drive, then add the Registration plate, or did the UK designer start with a German image and mirror it to make it Right Hand drive

Whichever way you look at it ( pun ) it's definitely the same original image....

So the answer is :

The left hand drive picture is the "original" as the only difference obvious when the picture is mirrored, is that the cover within the front bumper that hides the towing eye socket, also gets mirrored across to the other side, whereas in reality it is always on the left when looking at the front of the car, whether the car is a right or left hand drive version

The right hand drive image has chrome on the 3 bars on the upper grille, but the left hand drive one doesn't

Also just noticed that the clouds in the backgound are different too

Good spot with the chrome on the grille !

The "German" version is definitely lacking in chrome, but not so sure about the clouds - they look the same to me - its just thatt he pics I posted aren't cropped as much as the "German" picture so there are more of the clouds to be seen.

Any more spotters out there ?
