I'm relocating back to Melb, Aus at end July after 5 yrs in Singapore.
Have decided I love the EOS.... few concerns.
1. Order - delivery lead time..... What's the delivery time like in AUS?

2. Will I miss the space? ....I plan to order with removal tow bar so I can carry my road bike.... But am a little worried if I will miss the extra boot space?? 80%-90% of the time it won't worry me. But its that 10% ie away for the w.e. I'm wondering.....
Oh and btw, just FYI. THe EOS in Singapore is S$150,000.... as the Singapore government puts a 140% tax on all cars! Hence why I've waited until my return to AUS......
Tx for your tips....
Great forum... and photos. tx.

... you probably will!

G'day, WilgiEos,

And welcome to the forum, a reliable source of information and irrelevant trivia :) .

AFAIK every Eos (please note my careful avoidance of the actual plural) sold in Australia is equipped with the parking sensors, and the new ones (MY09 onwards with the RNS510 radio do have the Optical Parking System (I believe that's what it's called) to display the distance to objects at the rear of the car.

I ordered on 30 Dec 2008 and took delivery on 06 May 2009. I believe a lot depends on the timing of order and production runs. I was initially given a window from early April to late May and ended up with the glass half full.

Space, well, I think the boot is pretty good all things considered. Weekend getaways may have to be done with the roof up (to get to the destination) then roof down enjoyment but of course that depends on how much stuff you need to take with you ;) .

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Michael

Thanks drbass...Michael.
I just found the EOS spec sheet on the VW.AU site.. so now understand what comes with each model. Singapore options/standards are different.

Fingers crossed I can order and get delivery close to my relocation back to Aus time at end July. Alternatively may go for used model if I can get top shape one.
I will keep my eye out for the Candy White EOS as it passes by.
Narelle.
