Waiting........

I ordered my EOS 3 weeks ago, and am hoping/expecting delivery mid-July. What do you guys do to pass the time between ordering and delivery?

I've started spotting other EOS on my commute from Telford to Solihull (UK Midlands) - there's only one I see from time to time - black, lady driver.

Any other ideas to get the time to move faster?

Can't help you much ... saw the car on Saturday which was the first day they were introduced in Canada, then picked it up on Monday. That was a long enough wait for me! Dealer wanted to keep the car as demonstrator, but he was not getting any more to sell for over five months; so ........... I convinced him it was silly to keep a sales demonstrator when he would have no more to sell for such a long while.
Ordered mine January, delivered this last week. The last month was hell, mainly due to failed delivery promises!! It's worth the wait though - and this forum REALLY helps to pass the time and whet the appetite! And this afternoon it is actually dry and relatively sunny - roof dropped for only second time and cruised through our village - teeth gleaming - its worth the wait!

I ordered my EOS on Friday 11th May and hoping it will arrive before the end of the summer.
2.0T FSI in Island Grey, Red Nappa leather amd Westwood alloys and a few other options. So there's another EOS due to appear on the Shropshire roads.
I hope you do manage to get yours before the summer ends. However, it is part of the Eos owning experience that you have to wait for your 'bespoke' package. The anticipation is one of the great bits.
Best of luck with a quick delivery.

Graham,

I finally have to ask. When I look at your signature and the specs for your EOS, it says "vegetarian". Can you explain? Is that some kind of special fuel it consumes, or that it's owner consumes? Thanks!
Sorry to hear about your wait. I searched the internet, found the vehicle I wanted and purchased / took delivery that same day.

Welcome .... from the appearance of your photo, looks like left hand drive and thus North America. Cars are slightly more plentiful (and less expensive) for US than for poor guys and gals in UK!
Fred,
Nothing complicated like that, just black and titanium cloth seats rather than leather. The vegetarian option.

Thanks for the explanation .... no longer concerend theat your car is edible! Cheers!

You lot don't know what a wait is!
I put a deposit down on an Eos in March 2004 as soon as I saw the Concept C from which it was developed. Car arrived 14/07/06 so that was 2 years and 4 months!

Passed the time by finding every single bit of info about the Concept C on the Internet; went to the official Eos launch at the Frankfurt show 2005 where I met and grilled the development chief; then trawled the internet for every bit of info on the production Eos whilst counting the days down to delivery! Also bought a 1/43 scale model of the Concept C then the Eos to keep by my bedside! Sad or what?!

The biggest disappointment was when publicity material for the 2004 UK Motor Show said the Concept C would be on VW's stand. It was, but only on the first day, which no-one mentioned! I played hell with VW when I got there a week later to find it had gone to Paris. The UK Motor No Show I called it! I tried to get them to pay for me to go to Frankfurt to view it but all I got was a free cup of coffee in VW's VIP suite!

Needless to say I'm absolutely delighted with my car but one disadvantage of being first in the queue is that no-one at VW knew anything about it. In fact I knew more than they did. They give me wrong answers about certain questions, e.g. they said I couldn't have heated washer jets because I had leather (heated) seats, which would create a conflict if I tried to order the winter pack as it too included heated seats. Total rubbish of course but now I don't have them!

WOW!! What dedication. As a matter of course I expect that VW have recognised this exceptional degree of loyalty in some way, invitations to special events, being solicited for user feedback, involvement in process improvement, general understanding of who their customers are and why?? Etc etc???

I bow to thee, oh dedicated one

Yeah, right.. Mr 'Who Was That?'
and the delivery date I've been given is......

Tomorrow!:)

Had a call from the dealer this morning telling me that it's in the dealership and was being prepped for collection this weekend! I had an update last week which said the middle of July, so the lack of warning really cheered me up! Still, I can't keep the smile off my face now, and I can't wait for 11:00 tomorrow morning!

Shropshire, then off up to Manchester tomorrow afternoon - so if you are on the A49 around 15:00 tomorrow, I'll see ya then!
Enjoy Steve!

You are going to have a fun weekend!

Cheers,
