Hi all,

I am having problems with water remaining 'trapped' in the doors every time it rains / is washed, until the door is opened - when it gushes out from the bottom of them and soaks your feet unless you stand well back. So...

Is this a 'design issue' with the Eos?
Is there something blocked? (Last gen Fiesta's regularly had drainage slits that blocked and needed weekly/monthly opening with a screwdriver)
Is something not 'sealed' and therefore allowing water into the door? (I am currently waiting for a dry day to Krytox the Eos (to hopefully solve a leak into the boot!))

Many thanks for any help / advice

There have been other threads on this issue if you use the search facility.

In short it does happen, more to some than others, and you do kind of get used to it.

Ditto, just stand back after a good rain or wash. Mine does it every time. It is just how the car has been designed seal wise. Love the car and don't even think about it anymore, just warn your passengers before they open the door.

Many thanks for all the replies, will have to accept it was a 'feature' that isn't mentioned in the brochure, and warn unsuspecting passengers before they open the door on / after a rainy day!

"will have to accept it was a 'feature' that isn't mentioned in the brochure"

Perhaps this is tempting fate, but I have owned an individual for nearly 4 months now, just under 4000 miles. I use it every day, my ownership has been during some of the UK's most harsh weather we have had for many years.

I have not experienced any leaks, no water in the boot, no damp front carpets, and no water on my shoes when I open the doors. When I open the car remotely, I get a few drops on the door grab handle or edge of the seat, where the window has dropped its half inch or, but that's all and its due to the roof line.

Strange how compared to the UK there are very few occurances of leaks from our colleagues in the states, where there are real issues in temp and weather fluctuations.

I must admit that had I seen this forum before I ordered an Eos it would have given me great cause for concern, its all factual so its not complaining about the content of the postings, but to me there is far more negative issues on the postings than positive ones and I can seriously say I think I would not have taken the risk.

As it is I am so paranoid about leaks that I physically check all the carpets and boot for dampness each weekend.
