I swapped an Alfa 156 for my Eos. Before that I had an Alfa 166, before that an Alfa 164 and before that various Audis and BMWs. My last VW was a Scirocco GTI 1982/5 although we've also had 2 Polos in the family. My first VW was an oval-window 1956 Beetle! They've come on a bit since then!

Before the Eos I had a Toyota Corolla T sport. I really wanted a convertible Golf GTI but they are not made so had to plump for the EOS. It's a great substitute, at least for me.

Swapping out Pug 307 for the EOS - no del. date yet.
Previously had Rover 600s, Vauxhall Cavaliers, loads of Minis (including a Traveller) - have to go back 25 years to get to my last soft-top - a Triumph Spitfire!

Toyota Rav 4 (I actually NEEDED a 4x4 with my previous job-even tho not a "proper" 4x4, it got me to work in situations where other cars were stuck at the side of the road).
Still have an MGTF, had escort convertibles before the RAV.
Last VW was a passat about 15 years ago. In gold. Looked like a proper old man's car!! (not great for a young lad tryin to have a bit of street cred, but it was cheap!!).

My current car is a scenic which I,m going to miss like mad as its such a useful vehicle, but got to move on and two days from now I pick up the Eos !

Looks like United are going to pick up some extra passengers then! They'll enjoy the bus ride!

Had bunch of used cars before. My first "new" car was a 5 series BMW seden. Then a Cayenne S. Since my Cayenne was getting old, just traded it in for a Touareg V8 two weeks ago. And for my secondary car, a very basic automatic EOS 2.0T will arrive the end of this month. :)

Learnt to drive in a Vw Polo - The ugly one with the 2 head lights.
My 1st Car was mark 4 golf - Golf with cream trim. Nightmare to keep clean that was.
My 2nd car was a brand new mark 5 Golf 3 door 1.6fsi sport. Done nothing but broke down from new. So it was got rid back to VW.
Had to drive round in an old fiesta for 3 months while I waited for my Eos to arrive. When I say old Fiesta it was 5 years old!!!!!

So my car journey has been VW other than 1 to get me out of trouble.

I love the red and blue dials on V dubs. But dont like the repair costs or the way my local dealers treat me.

Dont' think so... I had a Lexus SC400, then a BMW 325iS, then 3 Passats fully loaded with 4Motion, and now my EOS. (gave the last 2006 Passat to my wife so I could get the EOS) Could not be happier. The EOS has all the features that the luxury coupes had, and her car is still around if we have really rough winter weather!

P.S. Looks like wkc had/has some pretty fancy vehicles in his stable!

The Eos replaced her A2 (written off), a previous A2 (traded in), a 206CC, a Megane Scenic, a 1.0 Micra and before the advent of my company car two Sierras a Fiesta and a Morris Minor. In parallel I have an Accord Tourer which followed 2 Passats and two Vectras (all company cars).

You could say we traded down as the A2 had a higher seating position!

Before EOS there was a '99 Jetta, a string of Toyota's, too many American cars, a souped-up '65 VW Bug and a '66 VW Station Wagon c/w 8 track stereo (my first car)... Had the EOS since February but still awaiting the snow to stop in Western Canada to ride with the top down - my friend's blame me for the weather because I bought the convertible! BTW so far I LOVE IT!!!!!!

String of VWs

Had a string of VWs over the past 30-odd years. I600 Camper, perfect when nippers were young, but underpowered; early 1600 diesel Golf - faultless, sold at 165,00 miles and still going well. Then a Kubelwagen (Mexican built) just for fun; striking but slow and impractical; a 1600 lhd Beetle; a Passat estate - totally satisfactory; a 2.3 litre Transporter - perfect for carrying my vintage motorcycles to events and now the EOS (2.0Tdi). I am reluctant to say much about it for fear of breaking the spell, but after five months and 4,00 miles I can't think of a single negative comment. Jeremy Clarkson, eat your heart out!
